Current Weight

Performance: losing 0.3 lb a week

Goal Weight

Just turned 49...with an extra 10 pounds to lose. Struggled with food most of my life. Started the 17 day diet beginning of January with a few slip ups and lost 10 pounds.
Exercise 5-6 times a week. Mostly like pilates, zumba and weight lifting. Do cardio machines if pressed for time.

I'm a student (again) studying occupational therapy and I love to cook.

wish i would have read the book before joining Primal Blueprint...
Yep, what AuroraLaura says. I sometimes use fruit preserves too.

In my coffee I add cream (which is sweet). Mark adds a pinch of real sugar to his (hence the 80% 20%)...

How did your first week go?
I am finding it hard to do the 80% 20%. I don't want to be too restrictive like I was in Atkins because that way I cheat all the time...I would rather learn how to portion control on primal blueprint.

I managed to do about a week but then the weekend did me in. I still focus on the exercising and I can see I am much stronger than last year.

When I don't eat correctly it's the extra sugar and sweeteners not grains. I can live without them.

I will get there. It's a matter of how long it will take me. I am going to weigh myself at the end of the challenge if I can help it. I have too much of a love hate relationship with my scale.

Xylitol & Diarrhea (TMI)
I can't use any sweeteners without dire effects...I really suffer when I overdo it (more than a teaspoon).

I would try using raw honey instead for a while. Yes I know its not low carb. Another option is to sweeten using fruit. Apples (in cooked products), mango, etc...

Coconut, coconut cream/milk, heavy cream all add sweetness too.

Wheat Belly
I didn't read it yet but I made the biscotti recipe which was to die for...Great to have with the weekend's morning coffee.

Let us know if it's worth buying the book.
