Bio update 9/05/16 - Labor Day!

I have been overweight most of my life. Now 62.5 yrs old. This weight loss has not been a rapid process. My highest weight was 280, which I hit twice, the last time about 5 years ago. I discovered I do much better physically and emotionally without gluten, so getting rid of that turned around the bad times for me (depression and weight gain). Eventually, I was diagnosed with Celiac after a genetic test. I joined FS at about 240 in April 16'. My success here has been a combination of the great community support, and the tracking of food and activity. I've been eating low carb for a long time, but the tools here allow me to do it more accountably. Also, many of the keto resources say that calories don't matter, but I do better when I also restrict calories. I'm aiming for about 1200 kcal/day. The high fat allows me to cut cravings and control my eating. I lost about 30 lbs in 4 months when I first joined here, but the losses are slower now. We always wish it could be faster, but I am so happy to be moving in the right direction! I have a lot more to lose, but I feel optimistic and increasingly healthy. Aiming for about 155.
I'm following a Low Carb/High Fat diet that works well for me; with some days of intermittent fasting.
I've set my current goal at 180. Then I'll set new smaller goals as I go, with my final goal, which I hope to reach by next summer.
Still doing HFLC/keto. When I stick to it, it works.
