Let me start out by saying that I am a short fat man. Well now that is out of the way let me introduce myself. My name is DJ. I am a 34 year old male in living in Northwest Indiana. I have been "obese" all my life. I have been on diets before and was either always hungry or just gave into too many cravings. I have never really lost much weight but I sure gained it. Especially when I went from working in factories to a desk job. While I love my job, I don't love me. So after thinking about this for a long time (several months) I started to make little changes. Well my little changes are now turning into lifestyle choices (I'm NOT dieting!!!). I feel really good about the decisions I have been making about food and activity (I don't "EXERCISE"!!!). While looking into what is more healthy and how a BIG guy can take off fat I found this website. While I like how I can keep track of my eating choices and activity levels I don't like some of the words used on (and in) this site (i.e. Diet, Exercise, Weight (lbs)). These words all have a negative impact on me, therefore my goal is to lose "Fat" and increase my daily activity levels. With doing that the inches should come off and I will have a better quality of life. Well its been 4 years since I started on this site. I got down to 230 but shot back up to my current weight of 332. Now its time to get back down again so I can be happier with myself! Wish me luck.

What to do when your kids are obese??
So now on the topic at hand. I agree with Kat. Children are amazing. They watch everything you do and one day you will be surprised and find them do the same type of thing you do. My daughter still amazes me with her food choices and she is a rail thin 9 year old. Ya she eats all the junk food but she will turn around and get yogurt or make a salad for dinner (like tonight) or want a turkey burger. So ya you should be concerned over your kids weight, but don't count them out they will surprise you.

The only reason I am re-posting this is to point out the people don't read anymore. One poster brings up sports and asked if the parent can get them into baseball or swimming. Come on people READING IS ESSENTIAL!
