Ok...I'm 36 recently engaged yeah...and with that a whole new motivation to lose the weight so I look awesome at my wedding. We aren't doing it until May 2011 so I've got plenty of time!

I joined WW at work, but haven't been going to the meetings as much as I should or tracking...but my sis convinced me to get back on FS and we'll do our diets together.

Here's to a slim 2010!

Help
I found in the "healthy" section of King Soopers...where they sell the higher end nuts, dry roasted edamame...it's like peanuts but much healthier. NC are 2 and they have regular dry roasted and wasabi...it's good but it'll clear the sinuses! Higher protein and less sodium and fat than regular peanuts.

THe diet online??
I just HAD to comment on this!

Ninja-Cat, Lynn2 is my mom and her and my sister are following this Blood Type thing, I'm doing a low carb diet...anyways, What cracked me up reading this is here YOU are a vegetarian that should eat red meat and my mom is a type A that should eat vegetarian and right now could take down a side of beef on the side of the road, given the chance! This just cracked me up when I read this! Talk about life not being fair!

I'd give you some advice, but since I'm not following this diet, i really don't have much to say, HOWEVER, type O's and low-carbers have a LOT in common. You might want to check out the recipes for Atkins and South Beach diets because they'll take out the grains and high carbs stuff us O's aren't supposed to have, but give you some good higher protein alternatives...might get you some new recipes to try!

Good Luck!!!

Getting to KNOW YOU, la la la laaa la laaa laaa
Hey all. I'm in Englewood, Colorado (border town of Denver)...that would be the United States Laughing

My screen name isn't very interesting...first initial and last name. My picture is of my deceased little girl. I chose her for a few reasons but mainly because I rescued her at a time when I needed rescuing myself. I put so much love into her and took care of her needs, which were plentiful that I stopped feeling sorry for myself and just started to really live. I feel with this weight battle (that I never had back in the day) I can use that kind of energy and support again from her. Gone or not, she's my tag team pal in this! Sounds weird, I know, but I'm sure all the other animal lovers on FS can relate to a point. My other kids are two fat labs...they could use this site! and a scrawny fuzzy terrier "thing"...not to mention two parrots that are addicted to Cheetos.

Questions to all other low-carb dieters...
I'm doing a modified Atkins...just because I know myself..if there are too many restrictions I won't stick with it..but also because my Mom's cholesterol went skyrocketing and she started to lose her hair when she did "Atkins"...does that make it bad? NOPE...when I started this I called her and asked why she quit...etc. She said that hers was unhealthy because she never added carbs back into her life. She was soooooo excited about all the weight she was losing that she cut carbs out almost completely...she'd be lucky to get 5 grams a day if any....and since things like bacon were allowed, she'd eat bacon at like every meal.

The low-carb lifestyle has proven to be very healthy...especially for diabetics, in fact MSNBC Nightly News did a story just a couple weeks ago about it. It's the people take it to the extreme that gives this stuff a bad name.
