Okay starting again!! I am now a 38 year old mother of 4 and having a hard time falling into a group here as I am actually following the Somersize plan but can't seem to find anyone else who is. FS won't allow me to find or create the SS diet so I will do my best.

I am a 35 year old mother of 4. I have 3 girls ages 10,8, and 5 and a little boy who is 2. I am a stay at home Mom who works part time as a breast feeding peer counselor. Last summer I trained for and competed in an adventure race and was feeling pretty strong and confident. We literally ran, walked, attempted balance beams and other areas of a confidence course, canoed upstream, biked and navigated with a compass through an orienteering course for 7 hours. I have never been more exhausted or proud (of me)in my life. However, Winter came and I exercised less and ate more and now am having trouble squeezing into my regular clothes, so......it is time to get healthy and happy again!!

recipes?
Thank you, thank you! I believe she is a naturopath physician, she has these letters after her name: ND, MH, CHS, CNHP, but I am new to this and may very easily be mistaken. We did not do a scratch test or injections. She predicted that I would react badly and have trouble with wheat, corn, and dairy due to my low magnesium and potassium levels. I had an electric scan done, where I placed my hand on a device, it scanned my body and fed info into the computer. She said that if my body was within normal levels (minerals? hormones?) the screen should read 10. My screen read 33. she told me to imagine a bullseye where the center was 10 and the rings outside of it were higher levels. She did give me a magnesium/potassium mix, a supplement for my thyroid, a supplement for my digestive system and Bach drops in a heart formula. I have had one friend say, "thank goodness you are finally doing something to get you back to normal" and another say "call me a skeptic but.....". I am pretty willing to do what it takes to feel good, so it wouldn't take much to get duped, however, I think giving up artificial sweeteners, eating protein and veggies, (Atkins,Paleo, or Primal)and taking the supplements can't hurt. I do want your input because I feel that the folks here have researched and studied food (and food intolerance)and experienced a little more than the folks in the middle of small town Missouri.

recipes?
So, I just visited a naturopath and what she had to say really made a lot of sense. She told me that I had thyroid and slight heart issues, which began with some underlying adrenal issues. She also stated that I have an allergy to wheat, corn, and dairy. I had been following Atkins (when I followed anything) because I do feel better when eating that way, makes sense. However, to avoid sugar I had been eating a lot of products with aspartame, splenda, truvia etc. in them which she adamantly encouraged me to quit immediately. I can handle what I am not supposed to do because I really want to feel 38 not 83 again (no offense to all of you young sexy 83 year olds javascript:insertsmiley('Wink%20','/static/images/emoticons/wink.gif'Wink). I just need help figuring out what I can do. Any suggestions about what diet plan would be best to follow? ANy recipes that you know of that are wheat, corn, dairy and aspartame free? I know you guys won't let me downjavascript:insertsmiley('Smile%20','/static/images/emoticons/smile.gif'Wink

Suzanne Somers "somersize"
I know that you posted about somersizing back in August but I just now found your question and would like to respond. I have been Somersizing for years and have also looked on here for someone else following the plan. I havwe been very successful at maintaining my weight with the program on level two. But more importantly, I feel good when I leave the carbs alone and food combine properly. Would love to chat with you about it if you're still interested in the plan.

Fitting physical activity into an already busy schedule!!
I have a date with Ellen Degenerous everyday at 11:00. I turn on the TV and walk/run on the treadmill while I watch her show. She is just very funny in my opinion, and laughing at her takes away the boredom of walking and I don't notice the fatigue as easily. I try to run 1 ,min and walk 3 min throughout the show. Works for me. I have 4 kids and they just realize that Mom can't hear you while on the treadmill so that hour is mine. Ya know unless someone is crying or bleeding Very Happy!! Whatever it takes!! somersizing
Anyone out there Somersizing? I looked for the SS diet here but, the closest I found was the lean protein rapid weight loss plan. I have hypoglycemia so sugar is a no no for me with or without a diet. Lately, I have noticed a sensitivity to carbohydrates found in grains as well. I love eating this way and the weight loss is a great side effect, but it would be cool to have/give support and encouragement from others following the plan too.
