following: Sherillynn's own diet
performance: losing 3.5 lb a week

I am 50 years old and have recently restarted after falling off the wagon.

I am feeling the effects of being overweight and I really want to reduce the stress on my joints as well as prevent high blood pressure and diabetes, which I am sure are right around the corner if I continue on an upward trend.

I just changed careers and instead of the high stress of being an Emergency Department RN, I am starting an inland shrimp farm in NE Iowa. I like having more control over my hours and my life. Hopefully, this will also help keep me motivated to drop the weight.

Blessings to all as they try to lose weight too!

Not a diet
Very true. That is for sure the reason I have failed so many times. Currently, my portion sizes are about a third of what they were. I need to stay like that.

What do people do who have chronic issues with pain
Water aerobics has been a great option for me with my back issues. Walking is also good. Your MD should be able to suggest things that are appropriate for your condition. If not, have him prescribe a few visits to a PT and they should be able to help.

Instant Pot or pressure cookers
I've recently been introduced to the Instant pot. (Not the smoking kind...lol.)

It is a modern pressure cooker and can I just tell you I love the results!!!

I've only cooked with it 3 times but the results have been fantastic and OH SO HEALTHY!!!! From what I gather, the nutrients aren't destroyed using this process and it is so much better for you than frying, obviously.

I made the juiciest chicken breasts last night in 8 minutes! The prep time added was another 12 -15 but they were scrumptious.

Can the rest of you Pressure Cookers add your two cents and maybe even recommend your favorite recipes?
