I live in the Arizona desert. Now (Winter)is my time of loving the desert. Cold... a bit... but no snow ... when it does snow, it's a novelty!

I'm starting out higher in weight than last January. I guess that shows I haven't been really serious about losing weight. Up and down... YO-YO. I'm on a stronger BP med. I don't want that, so it's a new day .. a new year for me to get with "it".

I'm still looking to losing weight and getting my blood sugar and blood pressure down so I can cut back on the meds. All my doctors tell me the same. Lose weight and get off the meds. You'd think I'd listen instead of damaging my vital organs with the high sugar spikes.

Thanks Buddies... I don't know where I'd be without all of you and your support and encouragement.

Correct carb count?
I don't know what the count would be on that recipe, but I don't think it would be the 13g. did you subtract the fiber? I know tomatoes are pretty high, but I add them to almost everything I eat.

I've been mixing Shirataki yam noodles in with my spaghetti sauce. They are really low carb and low calorie. The first few times I used them I didn't like them. So I guess you have to get used to them. I saute my onions and mushrooms in butter. Brown the meat and add the shirataki noodles and cook them really good. They take on the flavor of what ever you mix them with. A can of tomatoes and spices and that's it. I make chili and add them to it, too.

Sunday is Fasting day
Who is doing the 16/8 ? I've been trying that, sort of, Not eating after 7pm and not eating breakfast until noon or 1:00pm. I do drink tea with cream so I guess that is not a total fast and it keeps me from being hungry before noon. One of my problems is in the evening. Sitting in front of the telly and 'snacking' until I'm unconscious! I didn't snack last night and the scale jumped down this morning. Yay!
