2013 and time to update the Bio.... I am Paula and I live near the South Platte River in Colorado. I love where I live because there is a bald eagle nest near the river and I get to watch the resurgence of our national symbol from my patio throughout the winter and spring months. It brings me great joy to be able to "spy" on one of my favorite things in the world - eagles.
I am at 48-year old mother of three, ages 24, 16, and 14. I am recently divorced and went through a very difficult end to the marriage. One of the positive things that has come from being single is that I get to take all of the energy I had put into my marital relationship and focus on me.
In 2012, I was able to lose 38 pounds by changing my eating habits drastically. I went from stress eating and eating without regard for calories and nutritional content to a diet that focuses on lowfat, nutrient rich foods that keep me munching virtually all day. The plan works very well for me as I don't need to measure portions.
I joined Fat Secret in 2010 thinking that walking for 45 minutes every day would get me the weight loss I desired. It didn't. I didn't log my food, I didn't check in every day, I just didn't take it seriously. My mistake!
In 2012, I used Fat Secret as the primary tool for weight loss. I log absolutely everything I eat. I read journals on my lunch hour and they help me stay focused knowing that I am in this with 1000's of other people with similar aspirations. I have wonderful buddies who inspire me even more. There are challenges that have helped me set goals and start new exercise habits.
