I am following The Flexitarian Diet with my husband. I am the one who has to manage the meal planning, shopping, and general management. He is doing great working out and losing weight. I stick with it for about 2 weeks and lose about 5 lbs and then some stresser comes up (illness, family drama, toddler challenges, travel, etc.) and then I don't maintain during the stressor and have a hard time getting back to it when the stress passes. It is like a vicious cycle. I'd love to find someone to talk to through the ups and downs. My husband is a great listener but I just need something different. I am 38, need to lose 60-70lbs. I workout at a gym with both weights and either water running or swimming. The goal is to eat 1500-2000 calories per day. When I follow this plan it works even with my significan thyroid disease and arthritis. Sometimes if feels like I have it all worked out on what to do, I just need to do it and keep doing it.
Peace

Hi! I follow the Ornish diet, but I don't have heart disease and so I can still eat meat every now and then. It sounds a lot like being a flexitarian.
I have lost 40 pounds in the past five months and you can count me among your buddies. I will send you a buddy request! Onward and downward!
