Still to go: 7.5 lb
I am a 46 year old mother of 5, with 4 Grandchildren. It is time for ME! I Had a complete Thyroidectomy, plus the pregnancy weight bringing my weight to a whopping 265! I got myself down to 245 before finding FATSECRET, and I am down to 192 this morning but I still have quite a way to go. I work with elementary school children and I get asked if I’m going to have a baby by kids and old men, so I am feeling really frustrated that even though I have lost a lot of weight I am still not feeling successful. I joined fatsecret in 2011 to help hold me more accountable and to have a place to record everything, but have stopped recording and I would like to begin again and get the rest of this weight off. I have 42 pounds to go - way better than my original whopping 125!

The No Name Way to Eat Healthy
I just read jsfantome's last post and I am so much in the same boat. I have tried a million eating plans (all to be a new way of life eating for me) and I didn't fail, the plans failed me. I can not eat whites of any kind either and though I follow the Atkins induction plan to loose my weight I am still consuming so many healthy Vegetables and I am full and not over eating because my body is not lacking nutrient rich foods that whites are deficient in. My body needs protein, fat and vegetables and fruit. I love berries and I eat a variety of low glycemic ones, but I do not eat any fruit during the weight loss portion of my way of eating because if I do then I do not loose weight ( I don't gain, but I DO NOT LOOSE.) Thank you so much for your post, as I have been attacked from all sides if I even mention the Atkins word to anyone, which is quite sad for them, they are all a bunch of overweight family and friends whom I know have had the same struggles that I have had (knowing some of these people all my life) but their close mindedness will keep them packing on the pounds and miserable for much longer because some Government agency is pushing an agenda and telling everyone what is bad for their bodies. It comes down to this - This way of life works for me.
