Single mom age 42 gained 50 lbs after weaning my daughter at age 39.
I used to do Karate 3-4x a week, jogged 2x/week, weight training and aerobics 2x/week. I weighed 130 before getting pregnant. Actually lost weight during pregnancy, my figure was fine after birth but weaning and marital disaster killed my lifestyle and figure. After my divorce and starting a new life I am ready to start losing weight.

How has gaingin weight changed your life?
Hey everyone,
I saw the topic, how losing weight has changed people's lives, but I as skinny my whole life and now am dealing with being overweight and the changes it made.
I thought it would be interesting to hear what others have to say here. This may motivate us toward losing weight again to reflect on how being overweight negatively effected our lives.

As for me, I was very active and nimble. Now I am just plain sedentary. When I was thinner I actually felt sexy, now I am embarassed to even go out in public clothed. I have to buy tons of new clothes because the old ones obviously don't fit anymore. I had a baby and got divorced. Now I am at a loss for managing my time and energy to exercise whereas when I was single and skinny I worked out 5 times a week.
When I was skinny, I had plenty of money. Now my rent is higher, I have more obligations, more expenses, am I rambling?

Anyway, maybe I will have some more organized thoughts on this later.

I am a PhD student living a very sedentary existence of reading and writing and researching. Being a no-income single mom on student loans without a family network nearby does not promote an active lifestyle. HELP!
