Deb_N's Journal, 30 August 2014

While pregnant, I was diabetic, so I have that medical history. Last year I was walking only 300 steps a day and became diabetic again. I started walking an average of 2000 steps a day or 1 mile, along with eating a diabetic diet. This year I have been walking an average of 3000 steps a day or 1.5 miles. Although I got off the diabetes pills in February, I have to stay vigilant. Diabetes is something that will always be lurking there, ready to grab me. I'm going to fight to stay healthy!
147.6 lb Lost so far: 54.4 lb.    Still to go: 11.6 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

The body has a tremendous capacity for healing itself if you stop damaging it and get out of its way! Kudos to you for your perseverance and hard work!

That's so great that you were able to get off the meds. You must feel terrific about it.

It is so reassuring to hear that it is possible to heal diabetes. I haven't been diagnosed, but have a huge family history of it and don't want to go there. I'm glad to hear that it is preventable with the right attitude.

We have so much more control over our health than we sometimes give ourselves credit for. Proof positive!

Thank you so much, everyone. Really, anyone can do what I have done to lose weight. You just need to stay positive, eat healthy foods, and get moving.

That is super that you've overcome diabetes. For me, being obese is always lurking. I know if I give in to my old ways, I'll be back where I started. It's happened before, so I'm trying to avoid it at all costs by always keeping my health in the forefront of my mind :)

Reflecting on how far you've come should be a great motivator for you! Wow! Keep it up!
