Coach Ches Needs Help....I think.

What the Hell!!!!! I got to 206.6 last week, 6.7 away from Onederland and I started to party!!! Now I am 211.4 AGAIN.

I fell in some some quick sand made of processed carbs. I eased up off the booze but like a smoker who replaces cigarettes with food, you know how the rest of the story goes.

I can do this. I will be strong. I will get out of this mess I put myself in. Addiction S U C K S!!!!

-Oh, I get by with a little help from my friends
-Mm, I get high with a little help from my friends
-Mm, gonna try with a little help from my friends
..... Joe Cocker 1968 version

Go ahead, find a dark room with no food, lock yourself in there, sit on your bum and grabs your knees and rock back and forth and listen Joe to this song.

If you can't do this, come find me, kick the door down and grab my hands and let's sprint past those bad carbs. You have my OK to smack my hands if I try and grab a fresh baked cookie or 2 sitting outside the door as we escape.

Still logging foods after 28 days and don't plan on changing this new and welcome habit.

Coach Ches, put down the cookies. Put down all the disgusting processed carbs. They are pretending to be your friends. They are out to get you. They are trying to kill you. They want to take you down, defeat you. Don't let those bastards win. You want to live, live...

It is a life plan, not a diet plan. Acknowledge what you ate and move on.

Water weight, sodium, don't stress. A few days back on track and you will be great again.

Oh ps, our secret, I had slips over the past few days....waiting for Harvey (in La), "allowed" me to buy junk, just because that is what people here do when hurricanes or TS are coming. I bought for my husband, but did manage to eat all kinds of crap I shouldn't (feel free to look at my "food" diary)----AWFUL!!!! Carbs are the #1 enemy for me too.

My journal has now passed the 6 month mark, and includes daily sugar readings and BP readings. It's a life long change - a new addiction to getting slim and staying there! Don't try and kick all the bad habits at one time - that's a recipe for failure for sure. The old buzzword - moderation, and take one at a time. I put on 6 lbs during a week at a convention, but have dropped 2 since I got home and got back to my regular diet and schedule. Jones'in because I'm only 8 lbs from goal and I've hit a plateau just shy of it! Keep focused on the goal...it'll come!

You know what happened, you acknowledged it, no excuses and back at it. That's half the battle! Back on that horse, you've got this! 🐎

Thanks DO N OK, 2426girl, minitata, crankybuzzard, wannabhealthier, mysteryshopgirl, Little Red Fox, From371to184, mrosch, Ginsin, anonymous111111, Ginsin, old_sailor, ClarityAnn and all those who supported this. What a journey this is. Glad to have your support. Chugging a lot of water and seltzer now to keep me from confusing thirst with hunger. I must have slipped on some wet grass while running barefoot with cookies in my hand trying to keep you guys from stopping me from eating them when I, fell, bumped my head and passed out. What I thought was quicksand was probably poop and the cookie is now in it. Leaving the cookie behind for now I will get up and run with you guys/gals to Onederaland instead. -Ches

It is hard, but don't beat yourself up. Last night I had one and a half glasses of wine and was really hungry at about 10 p.m. So instead of peanut butter, almonds or fruit, I ate some vanilla ice cream. When I weighed in this morning I was afraid I would be up. Not so, I was down a pound and six ounces. Now I have to stay on track so I lose another pound this week. Just get back in the saddle and ride the "I can do this horse". Works for me.

Ches, Ches, Ches! It happens! I'm still a pound up from my binge a couple of weeks ago. You didn't fall off the wagon. The horses just got a little outra control. So, whisper sweet nothings in their ears, give 'em a carrot and a pat on the head, and then rein 'em back in. They know who's boss!

Tyaki, I just read your "horses" comment! We must be in the same corral!
