So, I got a UTI last week, went to the doc for an antibiotic, but the 24 hour fix up just didn't happen. I dragged through the week, and on Saturday I got a computer generated notice to call my doctor. It turns out I have an antibiotic resistant strain, so now I'm taking a second course of antibiotics. I stayed home from work to go to the doc this morning, got the scrip, went to the pharmacy and while I was waiting for them to fill it I browsed around. This is where I got into trouble: I succombed to temptation and bought some diet porn junk food from Weight Watchers - these little gooey artificially sweetened candy bars that said only 3 grams of carbs. And of course, I ate two in the car on the way home! Not exactly a healthy lunch and on our site they register a lot more carbs. Deceptive advertising! Well I logged it as pure chocolate, but I'm not sure how my body will log it -- except that now between the antibiotics and the fake sugars my gut is rumbling and I will pay for my stupidity. one way or the other. Fake food = bad juju! I have slept a lot today, so I guess that means I'm healing. Still hoping to find the energy to finish my pantry sort-out project. I did get it painted yesterday in 45 minute session - low energy! I've been enjoying my afternoon of lazing about in the sunshine! My new sunroom has a view of the sparkling river and the flocks of geese pestering about.

Yes, fatsecret doesn't subtract the sugar alcohols, just fiber. Most people only subtract half of them. i try not to eat them often, taste too good! feel better soon....

"Sugar alcohols come in the form of ingredients such as glycerin, mannitol, sorbitol, xylitol, erythritol, isomalt, lactitol and maltitol. Between the antibiotics and (potential) clean-out from the "diet" candy, I hope you're taking some good probiotics! Get that gut flora happy, and you'll be able to overcome the rest of the bugs. Feel better, sweetie!

Feel better soon - an infection hits your whole body, not just the bit that shows it worst. Get plenty of sleep and drink lots of water. You might not want to do the latter with a UTI but it will help flush the bacteria and toxins out although perhaps be uncomfortable. Take care of yourself

Have you ever tried "D--mannose "? It's a natural cure, a powder form that you add to water. It's helps with the symptoms but you still need antibiotics. They can be so uncomfortable and make you feel very tired. Feel better soon!

You are right, junk is junk! I have even figured out that chewing sugar free gum throws me off, it makes me want more carbs. I just stay away from all of it as much as possible. Good luck!
