aggie95's Journal, 04 April 2016

So I survived the 10k race! Well, it was a relay, 30 k in total and I did the first 10k and then my friend took over and ran 10k and then her husband did the last 10k. I did the 10k in 1 hour 12 minutes. I was aiming for 1:10 to 1:15. But at the 10k mark, I didn't see my friend and I had to keep running for another 0.34k! Anyway, I passed the race chip to her and she was off. In total it took 3 hours and 23 minutes for us to complete the 30k. We were raising funds for Ronald McDonald House which is near and dear to my friends as they stayed there 6 years ago when their daughter was diagnosed with brain cancer. She won the battle and is now in grade 3. So, my friends like to support that charity which ever way they can. But I'm glad it's over with and I can just go back to running for exercise and getting away from my desk for half an hour!

Thanks to all my buddies for the encouraging words on my last journal! You guys are awesome!!

That's awesome! We have a RM house here in Memphis, such a good thing to have for these families that have to come and stay while receiving treatments. I haven't ran for them yet, but it's def on my list!

That's amazing, great job!! Wonderful charity too, I've had to stay there twice, once when my sister was in ICU and once when my newborn son was in ICU. Happy for you, you kicked ass.
