What is this weight training that you all speak of? That exhilarates and energizes you? That you look forward too?

That Machiavellian torture surely was NOT it! And if one more person calls me fat fit I will deck them with a dumbbell. I am well aware of that fact.

I don't think I will ever say that I look forward to working out (weights or cardio), but I do love the way it makes me feel when I am done. Some days I am highly motivated and feel great and other times I have to force myself to get up and do it. I don't really have an answer for you, lol! We all have to find our own way with exercise and diet.

Anything with weights. Increase the wieghts or reps as you adapt to the one you are doing. It could be lifting, resistance weights, kettleball, or even using your body as the weight. Hoisting bags of compost !! LOL .

My theory is that if you enjoy the exercise you will be more apt to do it. But who knows, after you see your new curves, you might actually come to like this torture.

Strength is good for the bones. My doc pushes it with me due to my knee and ankle issues and osteo arthritis as it increases bone density. It makes me feel good, tough often to get the workouts in, especially lately, but I can tell the difference in how I feel. I need to get back at it.

Fat fit, never had anyone call me that :) The first week of strength training is the worst, the exhilaration comes in when you can do more reps or increase your weight

I love weight training. I'm always looking at my arm muscles. It's fascinating to me to see those muscles develop.

Yup - I can do 30lb dumbbells on several things now, and heavier in dead lifts! Feels great!

Nichol, If you are a big cardio person and want to incorporate weights look up P90X3 CVX, it is cardio with weight no more than 12 lbs. of weight but your arms and legs will be week when you do 30 minutes of it.
