Good Afternoon, FS Warriors! Just thought I'd share some info with you that doesn't really have anything to do with fitness or weight loss, sort of, or maybe, I don't know. Anyway, I am being bombarded with about 150 spam emails a day, and most of them have to do with dating, or exaggerating the male anatomy. Yes, I am getting invitations to meet Russian girls - beautiful lonely Russian girls, no less. eHarmony, Match.com, and Our Time all have the perfect mate for me. I can date Chinese women, black women, and even Rude Women (beautiful Rude women). I am married, why would I want to pay to date a rude woman. Haha, don't tell DW I said that! It seems that a lot of people out there have somehow determined what's best for me, and is willing to let me pay for it. I get a lot of requests asking if they can call me (and they list my phone number). A lot of others send a file which they say is a picture of them, and if I open it and I like it, I can get more. Wow, what a great country! Something tells me if I open that file I'm going to get something I didn't bargain for. There must be an excess of these magic pills that will make me grow. Hmmm, I never thought about that, but they guarantee me it will happen, or I get my money back. I wonder how I would prove that. In a way it's comical, but in others, it isn't. I order quite a lot of things online, and all the sites claim to have the best security money can buy - and yet - someone is apparently lying. I have been fortunate in that all this security violation has compromised is a phone number or email address. I'd love to just go change my email address, but the email address is my login for so many accounts, and I don't want to go through the hassle of changing all of those account profiles. I'll bet a lot of people are like me on here, and shop the internet for the best deal on just about everything. Is this striking a chord with anyone out there? One of the guys I work with gets lots of emails regarding breast enlargements; at least I haven't gotten any of those yet. It really becomes an issue when I don't check my email for a couple to three days, like on a long weekend, and I have to weed through 450 emails to find a tracking number for an order or see if I have received a legitimate message, before I can select all and delete. And no, I haven't been on, or given any information to some seedy websites. I don't have time for that nonsense. Just wondering if those of you who are internet intensive have experienced what I'm describing. I tried filtering by putting in every curse word and vulgar description of male and female anatomy, as well as some of the descriptions of the acts themselves. They just use intentional misspellings and add non verbal characters to deceive the filters. They've got this down to a fine science. I'm sure if they only get one in ten thousand to respond, it's worth it to them. Hmmm, I wonder if Al Gore can take credit for this.

I agree, too much spam and not even the edible kind. Have a great day and just let the wife know that she's all the cream you'll ever need for your coffee. Have a great day :)

Everytime I read an article online on it seems I get a ton of spam. Especially, MSN Men's Health articles. Some of the articles has great information in them , but being me, I really don't need member enlargements, Viagra or to date a beautiful whatever nationality girl. So sometimes it is good for a laugh, though tiresome to have that mess clogging up my email account. Even on FB, I will post a pic or share with my sister and then on my emails will come a spam with her FB name having her as sending it to me, even though I just put Sis on the item I shared with her. Whoever "they" are that is actually sending those emails are disgusting to put it mildly.

Most email you can filter. You can set up your filter for those pesky e-mails and have them delete themselves as soon as it hits your box. Most e-mail have that capability of "filtering" unwanted mail. But I do know where you are coming from.

I guess those same Russian women want to date me too!! lmao - I should just empty my spam folder without bothering to look, but every once in a while something that's NOT spam gets shunted there, so I just do a look thru then *click* and gone...and I get the same ads for "that certain part of the male anatomy"...um, yeah - sure - ok...I'm female...sheesh

Ugh, DK. Did they ever pick the right person. I gather this is personal, not corporate email?

I don't get near the spam at my outlook.com email as I did via the aol email addy and yep, I'm a web browsing internet shopping article reading addict. I've added my aol to the outlook as an extra incoming and will occasionally log into my aol mail and clear the spam folder but it doesn't take up much of my day to day time.

Do you have a lot of task bars at the top of your screen? Task bars absorb things you see on the internet and then in turn are relayed back to Google or Yahoo or whatever thru their email tracking (like when you log in they track your email address) they send you tons of emails...not that I think you're looking up Russian male order brides, it's probably just an ad that was on the side of a screen you were looking at or whatever...but it might help with some of it if you delete those and just keep a basic one???

Well, I've been told the public apps like Google Mail have real good filters, but I have a distrust of the power Google has over their phone apps, email accounts, and certainly the cloud. When I had a phone that was Google dependent and then found that all my password and account info that I stored in secure apps couldn't be accessed unless I had an internet connection, I happily went back to my obsolete Blackberry. No, the email account is handled through a private web server that also hosts my web site, and I don't think it is the most elaborate mail client server. I can create as many email accounts as I want on there, and I guess I will have to create another one since this one has apparently been compromised. The fact that they are Russian or Chinese doesn't do much for me; if I was going to go looking, I think there's an awful lot of attractive women in this country, even in this county. I'll have to ask DW what she thinks of that. Haha. I think I already know the answer to that. She's not what you would call - what's the word? - "tolerant" - yeah, that's the word! Toodles!

You are bombarded with them cause you are a fit running sort of guy, lmao I have no idea as I get a lot of those too, that is why delete is very handy

Yeah, I know, the delete button is great, but there's always that one order confirmation, shipment tracking info email, or long lost friend from decades ago, or something that forces me to peruse the subject and sender before I delete. I'll probably create another email address that runs simultaneously for a while, as I transition to the new address.

I think if DW finds out you're shopping for mail order brides or male order brides either way you're gonna end up with a trout upside the head. She sounds like my kinda gal. Except for baking fish. We need to talk about that. LOL.

Haha FB, touche!

Yes, and Socolova, thank you for clarifying that "Male" order thing. I'm trying to project a different kind of image here. :)

Oh, not to worry, we know you're a red blooded american male.. even know when to back down from the DW. I went to a gun show once where guys whistled at each other and it was just find as long as the one being whistled at was carrying a gun. I don't think that would so accepted outside of that arena.

Interesting gun show.
