Happy Dance Thursday, Buddies!

I do not have to see clients Friday, so tomorrow will be my weekend.

On Friday, I have a short Board meeting, a workout and meeting with my trainer, and then out to see the local AA Baseball team and some fireworks!

BUT, I already can hear the trainer telling me to EAT MORE...and I intuitively understand I probably should be eating more calories just to fuel my body...
BUT, yikes it is hard.

QUALITY not QUANTITY

More calories often ends up wanting to be more "bad" carbs rather than more protein (I cannot seem to choke down anymore)or more fruits and veggies.

I am logging about 1300 calories and who knows based on measurements and weights what I really eat - probably a little more or less on any given day.

Can I go UP ???? It seems when logging 1400 and above I gain on the Idiot Box...

Yeah....so most body builders will tell me EAT, EAT...others will say do what is comfortable. I think I need to focus on QUALITY of calories and not just QUANTITY.

Any thoughts?

I am dedicated, determined, and diligent!

It's amazing what good quality food can do for you. I spend the money on the best, leanest, organic I can afford. It makes a huge difference in my phycial and mental satisfaction.

It's my Friday too! =) I agree quality not quantity. I would think that quality would keep you fuller longer.

Apologize if a repeat from old unsolicited advice - Isopure Carb Free Clear beverages - blue raspberry is my fav at this time. 40grm protein; zero carb; 160 cal.

Both quality and quantity are important, but quality more so.

The fact that you said 'choke down' indicates you need a bit of a change. You'll figure it out

I'm new to this, but I think that when we have stored energy (nice way to say fat, huh?), and we are eating quality foods (mostly plants), our appetites will naturally drop while our bodies use the stored energy. Look at the fasting literature (I'm not recommending fasting.); people who are seriously overweight have fasted for months with normal or improving lab work, and they report a loss of appetite until they lose most of the extra weight. If you are making changes, even long-term changes, your body will adjust. I think your appetite will grow as you shrink and keep expending energy. To eat when one is not hungry is pathological - its what got most of us on this website, and it trains our bodies/minds to some weird, maladaptive patterns. I am saying this mostly from intuition and a mix of many years of reading, so feel free to disagree.

What about adding fat? It does seem counter intuitive but when my fat % is higher I lose more fat. Just choose good high quality fat. I actually stall or gain at 1300 but I will lose at 1500-1800 if my fat is 65-70% of my calorie intabke.
