Annabelle3117's Journal, 27 March 2014

I dont have a lot of time this morning as I have to be at work soon but I wanted to share this little tidbit with you. Yesterday I took my sister to the doctor for strep and we needed to get an updated weight for her. The only way to do this is to weigh me while im holding her, then weigh me and do the math. I picked her up and stepped on the scale, the reading with both of us together was 276... thats ten pounds less that I weighed alone when I started this transformation!! It put it in perspective for me, how much that weight must have felt like. Picking up my sister, plus a ten pound kettle bell, is like picking up all the fat ive burned. Insanity. My sister is almost fifteen, and weighs eighty five pounds. .

So that was my scale related, non scale victory lol

I'll be back! Have a wonderful day!!

Yep. I remember when I first lost 35lbs I 'grunted' picking Cutty's wheelchair up into the car... then as time passed I'd continue to find the equivalents. I think there's a thread here that compares it to like 'losing a small calf, losing a horse' - I'll try to find it. Whenever I go to the store for bottled water I put it in first - usually 6 cases - and it's daunting to think how hard that is to PUSH in a cart around the store and I was carrying nearly that much on myself.

No, mother hen, she sees a pediatrician who wouldnt help me if I begged. I called my doctor and asked if he would call me in something since both of my kids tested positive, the nurse smugly replied "we dont do that kind of thing here, and we wont even consider seeing you until you pay the two hundred dollar balance you owe." Trying to stay polite I responded that the balance in due to an insurance error, that I was covered and insurance will be paying. Thats why we are switching insurance companies and uninsured until the first. Ugh, all so very frustrating. Anywho, no fever for me and my throat feels alright today.I may have won this one :-)

OK so you have lost a teenage girl...in weight that is... If I reach my ultimate goal (probably unlikely) I will have lost the weight of my oldest daughter.

That is wonderful!!!!!!! Congrats on that! Goes back to something my husband was gripping about last week-he was carrying bags of pet food (approx 35lbs each) in from the car and I said, you know, thats the equivalent of how much I used to carry around ALL THE TIME..all day, every day. :)

A pox on smug nurses!! So glad you've been able to fight this one off. I'd say you're winning this all the way around! Re: losing a teenage girl ;-) You weren't only lifting that girl, you were carrying her around 24/7! Carrying her while grocery shopping, vacuuming, fixing meals. And she's off your back now!! Huzzah! I'm not an old bat - but at 57, my back and knees are paying for all the years I've carried these extra people around. Makes me smile to think that you're getting ahead of this before it does long term damage. Good on ya!!

When you just think about it and really put it like that it really is amazing all that you have accomplished isn't it. Keep going my friend because you are doing so well. Have a wonderful day :)

Thank you for visiting me on my journal. I would definitely agree you are A-positive; your journals brighten my day even when you're paddling to stay above water. So while I definitely don't want to mess with 'that' I will say 'this' about the massage merely because I am an old lady and we get to get away with this kind of stuff. YEARS ago - when I was just a few years younger than you are now - a therapist told me 'you got issues, deal with 'em now or later but deal with 'em' and I ignored them and myself and regret it. Now, having said that, I'm always incredibly impressed by the grace and logic with which you carry yourself - a maturity and self awareness that I did NOT possess at your age so my whole advice probably isn't worth diddly. End unsolicited advice transmit. Over and out.
