Steven Anthony's Journal, 20 July 2018

Hi Everyone!

So, it's been a few days since my 90-day program officially ended. I have not gotten around to summarizing the experience yet, but I did want to share something.

I have wanted a carb day so badly, I even fantasized about what I could have, what I would want and enjoy the most. However, now that the weekend is approaching, I find that I don't really want to indulge myself.

First, what would a carb day really get me? NOTHING POSITIVE!

Second, what would it do to my progress? SET ME BACK SO FAR!

Third, how long would it take me to get back to where I am today? AT LEAST TWO WEEKS.

So, my alternatives are to 1) fast for 24 hours or 2) just eat normal keto. They both will actually do something FOR me, not against me.

Hi, you should search immediate fasting if you’re interested in fasting. Having carbs today won’t set you back two weeks! Everything in moderation. Good luck!

@Jaengetfit, so funny, yes poor Crumbcake's feeling a little betrayed, but maybe I will indulge him in a month or two! lol

So many times during this journey I am in awe of you! This is another one of those moments. You have skills, like coming up with the will power to eat right. Me, I can only eat right by not eating, or by handing the decisions on what to eat off to my wife.

@Adefwebserver, this is new for me, I would not have done this in the past. Doing the 90-day program taught me a lot about myself and my relationship to food. The fasting helped me to realize that I can control food, it doesn't have to control me. Thanks so much!

It's great that you have really learned how to look at what you're eating and if it's worth it. I'm not a faster or on keto, but I'm learning that same mentality for sweets and other indulgences. Is having the junk really going to make me feel as good as eating healthy? Nope, so I just keep moving forward. You're doing great!!

I love your thought process, Steven. I need to start asking myself those same questions about each of my choices.

Just finished reading your 90 days journals. (Finally get who Crumbcake is! Maybe you could be Steven Anthony - on stage live with Crumbcake and surprise guest Grump - sounds like a great segway to a band or a Ted Talk about taking on your life.) I love how you posted your 90 days -thank you.

Exactly! I have all the ingredients for keto friendly "cheats" and when I think about making them, I end up having the moment of "Why?" then move on. Congratulations on your changes!

I know the feeling. I have some sugary, high carb goodies in the fridge now.. I hear them calling my name!!! I thought, "Maybe just one teeny tiny bite of one now and then" and then I stop myself and say it is just not worth it. I know they are there, tho, in case of emergency!

Yay!! I get this so much from other people. “It’s good for you to splurge...”. But is it ? Is it really ?! I don’t want to. Now sometimes I will eat cheese or snack late if I’m hungry...I will partake in certain things. But I agree. For the most part I’m doing good and feel great. I’ve been now keto strong going 5 months. Cheating just doesn’t appeal to me as I know carbs will make me feel like sh@t
