I think what bugs me the most about hectic fast-paced weeks at work is not the food bits. That's when co-workers bring in food to share, or that it's busy and you feel too rushed to sit down an eat. Planning will get me over that by having enough food around to have healthy lunches to bring in. No, what gets to me is just feeling tired the whole time. It's harder to get my backside off the couch at the end of the day. I find myself leaning on my hand at my desk, tired and feeling apathetic. I drink loads of water and have a reminder on my computer that beeps on the hour, reminding me to stretch. Still, it's just hard getting over the general feeling of apathy. It feels so much harder to move! blech.

An interesting observation. A few weeks ago I was sick; a double whammy of cold and light stomach flu. I went to my building's convenience store and ended up getting Ritz crackers. I don't usually buy them (even though they're yummy), but I needed some basic breads for my stomach. As I got better, I ATE THE ENTIRE BOX. Oy. But today I was there and I saw the box. My stomach did a little flip, in a bad way. I had no desire to eat them, not one iota of desire. I wonder if it's possible to get your body over a specific food craving by overindulging on it? I mean, negative reactions to food are one of the strongest associations our brains can make. Now, I'm not suggesting that we all go and purposely get sick on ice cream or something, but it's still interesting.
Oh, and it totally worked to bring a salad in today to eat before the big Chinese food delivery, courtesy of my boss. I ate that and wasn't starving once the Chinese came. I was able to eat a little bit. :)

Doing a bit better today. This week is so hectic at work, and people keep bringing in pastry items for the office. At least I don't feel like I'm insulting someone personally by not taking something left in the break room, but it's still tempting when I see them. And my boss is buying Chinese for everyone tomorrow! I plan to bring in a salad and eat that half an hour before the Chinese is delivered. That way I can get away with just having a little bit.
I brought a nice lettuce wrap sandwich today for work - no carbs! Yeah for planning ahead and brining the right foods!
