I am a happily married (for almost 15 years) wife, and mother of 3 kids: ages: Aaron almost 19, Ethan 15, and Abbey 13. I am self-employed wholesale/retail candle/country store supplier, also a web host.
We live less than 5 miles outside of the beautiful tourist town of Watkins Glen NY. (Nascar & Wine Country)-2 things I really don't care about...lol.

I have struggled with my weight for just about my whole adult life-and I am wanting this to be my final change for ME.

Hey Chocobunny-would I just search Atkins on FB or is there a particular group you are a part of?

To Caroling: Re Carbs are Carbs
I am on Atkins and I am not grumpy... Smile I have been keeping up with this thread as I was curious where it would go.
For me Atkins works-although slower this time around as I really didn't follow it through all of its phases years ago when I tried it. I did the quick way and just ate cheese and pepperoni-which was so not the way to go. I was hungry all of the time and couldn't stick to it. This time around I feel so much better and have ate a variety of meats, vegetables ( on the approved list). I oddly don't miss breads, pasta or any of those types of things that always left me hungry and craving for more.
The only cheating I have done is not ate enough of something. I read the book originally and have been doing the "classes" at Atkins.com. So I appreciate Mahara quoting passages from it.
I thought somewhere else on this site I saw a post on people should "look at someone's food diary" before giving advice or a "pat on the back" so I don't see why it is a bad thing that someone looked on "someone" else's food diary. I dont think by posting what you ate in a day is for other's to help or critique but to keep a journal of what you are eating. AND if you need help for it to be there in plain sight. By only inputting shakes etc how are you showing the others that you "lead" how to do this right?
I thought this site was to help others, not throw them to the dogs when they say something you don't agree with.
I use Splenda cause I choose to, in moderation but I am not going to down you for not using it.
I tend to stick closer to the Atkins posters as if I try to follow a WW or someone's own diet-it isn't going to necessarily help me with Atkins.
But I for one am not a grumpy Atkins "life changer" as I don't look at this as a diet but a new way of life for me.
I think it is just too bad we can't just all get along.

I got your joke K-but sometimes in posts or emails you can't feel the tone-so I think you were just misunderstood.

Lets just get along-some will stay, some will leave but I hope those that do stay will "buddy" me as I can always use more support-but not downers.

Just had to say my 2cents, and it isn't meant to offend or lynch mob anyone.

following advice works
Thanks for the information. I will have to ask her where she has been keeping it and how long she has had it..lol...Our Walmart didn't have it in the baking section, so I will be looking today.

following advice works
Thank you for your post. I am increasing my water and trying very hard to hit my 1800 or more calories and trying to get even more vegetables. I will take your advice and I am trying to get my hands on some flax seed (My Mom says she has some I can have.).

10 Things I look forward to when I lose enough weight to show and feel
I love what a lot of you have said....and a lot of great reasons.

10. Because I am 41 and in the next 41 years I would like to be the "thinner one".
9. Because ALL of my adult life, I have looked in the mirror "most of the time" and thought-is that really you? and where did you put Becky.
8. Because I am tired of the excuses I have allowed myself.
7. I want to be able to completely LOVE me.
6. I want my husband & kids to be proud.
5. I want to be able to RUN like the people I see running along the road (out jogging).
4. When I go to my 25th Reunion (I have been to 5, 10, 15, & 20) I want to be the smallest of all of them-the reunions not the people.
3. To feel as good in my clothes as out...lol
2. To stop saying "I must have gotten the fat "genes" of the family.
1. FOR me.
