Hello, my name is Rebecca.

I will be turning 28 in just one short week from today (January 30th), and am realizing that I need to get healthy before I turn 30. Especially if I plan to get married within the year and kids possibly a few years after that.

I had a total ACL replacement surgery on June 15, 2009 and since then have been very sedentary. It is my goal to not only lose weight using the Atkins approach, but to also increase my level of activity to prior levels when I was healthier.

I just started Atkins a week ago and am now down 7 pounds. I was trying to do Weight Watchers prior to this and was not having much success. I know Weight Watchers can work, because it had in the past. However, for whatever reason, I was unable to really stick to it this time around. I plan on purchasing the Wii console w/a bunch of the fitness games next week to help with the activity issue. I have a huge collection of home workout DVDs, but currently live upstairs and don't want to make noise. That problem will be resolved as of next week since I am moving into a first floor apartment.

So I guess I am here to help track my food more accurately that my food journal I write in and to participate in challenges and maybe make some friends. I hope the challenges combined with my competitive nature will keep me on track.

Just checked out your food log....Maybe it is the Atkins products. They affect some people. Also, they are meant to be snacks...not meal replacements. How much water are you drinking a day? Maybe upping it will help. Sorry I don't have more to offer.

Atkins is a high fat diet. The theory being that your have to eat fat to burn fat. As you increase your carbs, your ratios will change.

Why I'm not losing and what's the deal with Net Carbs and Sugar Alcohols??
Very interesting. I guess I am one of those people who does not metabolize it.

The Biggest Loser
If I am not mistaken, they work out a minimum of 6 hours a day. Most of them do more than that.
