I really like the Knees Over Toes guy, snagged a few mobility moves from him, they really seem to be helping!

THANKS EVERYONE! I'VE got some serious work goals too, but if i can reach maintenance and get strong, I'll be able to do more. I guess. I should say my goals are to make a schedule and stick to it ... Discipline!

jenjabba, I failed myself for 30+ years. I realized that I had to do this for strictly me!!! I don't ever goals because I hate to fail them and I generally would. So, instead I set agendas or objectives. Oh and mostly, mostly, mostly....I keep myself totally accountable to myself. Keep your humor through out!!!

Jen, I have had sleeping issues since i was probably 7 years old. I am 60 now. I found a few months ago that ashweganda and magnesium taken together help with my sleep. Be wary of ashweganda if you take any psych meds is only caveat. I use the moon juice brand. Or moonjuice carries a magnesium sleep stick (kind of pricey) that seems to help also. Best wishes.

Yeaeofhealth thanks. I don't believe in paych meds. I've only seen them do massive harm. So, nope. I don't take them. Diet and exercise helps mental health. I take magnesium and have that other suplament but it did nothing for me. I was diagnosed in November with sleep apnea. It's really hard to believe. So, I have a bipap machine that I am learning how to use. I need to buy a mask that fits and hopefully it will be my miracle cure 🥳

Jen even as little as you are they said you had sleep apnea? I did a sleep study when i was about 190 pounds maybe 9 years ago or so and i cannot remember the name of the actual diagnosis at the moment but essentially i wake up dozens and dozens of time every hour and dont get much rem sleep. They recommended a bipap machine but i didnt want to try it. So i continued to try other methods. Currently this is actually working i am getting probably 6-7 hours of sleep a night. Gosh, that is such a bugger of a problem to have. I hope the bipap gives you good rest. I am always amazed when i have a couple of nights of 8-9 hours sleep how alive i feel that day. Good luck honey.

Yearofhealth. YES. I WAS SHOCKED! I told my doc..but, but. BUT I LOST most of my weight. He said it's not weight. I saw the report. So, i bought a used machine off of craigslist. It's one of the best machines. I suspect I don't have obstructive apnea but neurological. I will find out after I analyze my data ater using it for a week maybe. Funny thing... get this.... the man I bought it from looked like HERCULES! NO JOKE. I wish i got a photo. He wasn't fat either. Pure muscle and a body builder. He had sleep apnea because he gained 30 lbs of muscke! Wow! Hearing his story was amazing. So, he chose to lose that muscle and lighten up on his lifting.

Jen i have one for you on that vein. My daughter’s daddy was a winning competitive heavyweight bodybuilder in the 80’s and 90’s. Magazine cover worthy actually (tho after first couple years we had a very strained relationship so dunno if that actually happened). Anyway he is 65 about to be 66 in a week or so and this past year his dr told him he needed to put the weights down and start doing some cardio for his heart. I got this from my daughter as he and i dont really speak anymore (no need to lil kid is 34 and he is all the way on the east coast and i am on the west. We are friendly tho). Apparently he was offended and doesnt want to sacrifice size. Haven’t seem him in about 10 years and he was still massive (muscle) then and looks to be about the same in pics ive seen recently. Too much weight on his heart i guess. Sure hope you get some rest pretty girl.

Year of health, he must be massive. Too bad the doctor has never lifted weights! Weight lifting is serious cardio conditioning. To tell someone to quit lifting is crazy unless he was injuring himself. There is a woman body builder that started at age 55 and was born in 1936. She's amazing and inspiring. Her name is Ernestine . You can find her on YouTube. The crazy stories we have.

I know Ernestine!!! Phenomenal girl! Yes, he is massive. A hair under 6’ and 250-260 of solid muscle when we were young and probably not too different now. He came up here for my girls h.s. Graduation in 2007 and i worked out at 24 hr fitness. Pretty big gym and one day i came in and the whole gym was buzzing about this big black guy who threw up more weight on the bench than anyone had ever seen. Next day he comes in and its my ex. 😂. Im like, of all the gyms you came to mine? He said yep, it’s conveniently located. He was staying in a hotel near here. People talked about im for a long time and he only was here for a week. Funny memory
