I am a 51 year old female, married for 31 years with one grown daughter. I work at our local Post Office as a Window Clerk. I live on a farm like property with my Mom and Hubby, 3 cats, 5 chickens, 4 calves, one dog, a pony, and an Arabian Mare. I can't ride my horse because I am too heavy for her, last time I stepped into the stirrups she nearly fell over so one of my goals is to get back in the saddle once again! One of my hobbies is baking bread and I am on the LCHF that has no place for bread. This will make my neighbors happy, more bread for them. Hubby still eats it and since I control what goes into it, my bread is much healthier and filling than store bought bread, cheaper too!! I live a quiet life in rural Georgia, we are far away from traffic, crime and gyms so my fitness work is going to have to be DIY! I'm ready to get rid of this extra weight, hang with me it's going to be a bumpy ride!! UPDATED 6/25/2016

I am now down 50 lbs and the past 10 months that I have not been a daily visitor to FS have been rough. Going to make a serious effort to return to daily tracking and using the great support here to reach my goal.

I came back in March 2016 and I am now down 100 lbs, still have 25 to go to reach my goal where I will pause and reflect and then decide whether to start maintenance or continue on down to 160 only time will tell.

06/26/16 1 Goal reached, I rode my horse for the first time in 7 years today, we were both rusty but it felt really great to be back in the saddle again!

LCHF Macro Ratios
mdubstep, I try to keep my macros around 80% Fat, 15% Protein and 5% carbs so far it's worked well for me, if I raise my carbs up over 5% of my daily average, I gain weight.

Account changes
I believe that the activity level is in the area of your RDI, click on change your RDI and I think there are radio buttons for changing your activity level. Go to your food diary and click on the gear wheel up in the left hand corner, that is where you find your settings

I left out a step, after you go into the gear wheel go to My Toolbox on the right hand side, click on My Diet, that's where you will find the place to change your RDI and the activity settings are in there

Hi guys, I'm 49 and I have been having issues with menopause and the fog. Retaining water, feet, hands and eyes swelling up, hot flashes (daytime) makes me want to yank off all of my clothes, night sweats (change gowns twice sheets once a night). I am not a pill taker, I have one allergy pill I take daily to stave off airborn allergens, other than that, nothing. I have been on this LCHF diet for 21 days now. All of my water weight is gone, no swelling in my hands, feet or face. No hot flashes during the day, still some night sweats but not sheet changing ones and my mental clarity is awesome....the fog has lifted so much and I read that the mental clarity can get even better if I start including intermittent fasting which I started yesterday. My fatigue is gone, my energy is up 100%. I am sleeping well now where I was tossing and turning and waking up with blood-shot eyes and dark circles. In 21 days of eating Low Carb - High Fat, I feel like I am 10 years younger!

Thanks! I was not sure if my reasoning had any validity to it, it just seemed logical but I have not noticed many people talking about re-adjusting the RDI as your mass decreases. It seems to me that if you failed to do this, then at some point your weight loss would stall and you would actually gain if you continued at the RDI for a larger person.
