Day 4 of a planned 5 day ‘no solid food’ fast
Blood sugar 95 mg/dL

Well, ‘Fasting Is Fastest’ if I can exercise 👍🏾

Yesterday I was able to find a break in the rain and 🏃🏾 run 5 miles. I then did a 🏋🏾 workout with weights at home. Comparing these results to not working out at all shows that 90% of the ‘weight loss’ is water moving ‘out’, but, it is nice to see the scale move…

Still at zero 'net loss' for the week. Let's see if I can drop a pound tomorrow. Gonna be hard because it is still raining like crazy. Will go to the gym tonight...

So any more pushups? I am still working on mine. After that whole challenge I can finally manage to do some. The fasting people believe that resistance training is good for your cells and improving your metabolism. Great that you got your run in. I did mine in biting cold. Hurrah for the scale!!!!

@liv001 - Great job on your pushups! No pushups for me since the contest :( However, I am working out with the weights at home. Both help, but, I enjoy the 'harder muscle workout' that the weights provide. Fasted weights and cardio are the best for me, but, fasted weightlifting does reduce my 'lifting strength'. This is not a problem with my dumbbells at home, only when I am in the gym trying to deadlift 230 pounds...

It's so funny to hear all this talk about rain there... one of my main reasons for moving back to Seattle was because my whole time in Gardena (from 2013-2015) it rained 3 TOTAL TIMES!! Now it sounds like you could start building an ark to burn some calories 😜

@nikeit - I tried to run on te treadmill at te gym, couldn't do it, got so bored. Back in the day the treadmill was fine, but, there is nothing like being 3 miles from home on a run and knowing the only way back home is to run back :)

@anaserk- Good luck on your fast! I left a comment on your last Journal post. You inspired me to water wat at least one day next week (today is done and tomorrow I break the fast at night). I miss the 'Spiritual' aspect of a 'true water fast' (right now I am taking in hundreds of calories in liquids, not-the-same-thing).
