Day 10 of a planned 11 day 'no solid food fast'

Blood sugar 92 mg/dL

Finally lost a pound 😊 6lbs in 9 days.

✈️ We have to head to the airport at 2:00am tomorrow so I will try to weight before we leave. Otherwise, I wont get to weigh again until Monday morning.

🌟 I changed my goal weight from 160lbs to 165lbs. 160lbs was jut a number I made up. My body is so resistant to hitting that number it is not worth the struggle, and I feel I look good in the mirror now.

When we get back from vacation, I plan to do another fast to get to 165lbs and then start my 'bulk'. πŸ’ͺ🏾 I am looking forward to building strength again and I need to consume carbs to do that... and carbs make me gain weight.

Love that you realized that 160 is too low for you - can't believe you can do 11 days without solid food - color me impressed!

@nikeit - Thanks :) I wanted to go to 160lbs only to give myself 'more room' when I 'bulk' and gain weight. However, I will just bulk for only two weeks and I should hopefully only gain 10lbs in that time. We will see...

Carbs won’t make you gain weight if you workout hard. Try using less weight during the exercise & doing a minimum of 4 Rounds, 4 sets 10-12 reps. Throw in some push-ups in between the set to keep the heart-rate in the 55 to 60% Level. It works for me & I eat at least 120 carbs per day.

I agree with srossca. you'll be able to lift more weight and build more muscle with some carbs.

I added 5 to my goal weight for the same reason. I like what I see now, and there's no reason to torture yourself over a number. You've done amazing with the solid food fast, and I'd love to know more about how you accomplished it. Hope you have a great time in NY!

SRossCA is right! So all of our attractive young members who spend a lot of time in the gym can get away with the goodies… Some of the rest of us ladies and gentlemen of somewhat advanced years are not going to be doing that. But Ches might!

Like your cut first, bulk later approach. Hope to finished body fat consumption soon, and then try 30-40 grams carb value from pure glucose prior resistance training. Happy celebration.

I broke the fast 6 hours early. eating McDonalds and off to the gym before my flight.

@Draglist - Yeah I can only carb up on lifting days. if I ate as many carbs as some of the younger non insulin resistant people I would still be obese.

@jenjabba - I would never want yo go non dairy :) I can fast but when I eat I like my cheese and cream :)

I was just curious. cheese for me is a trigger food. I can't just have one serving. I absolutely love it. I bought goat cheese yesterday to see if it bothered be and the dang thing had HONEY in it. so sad, I gave to a neighbor. happy birthday.
