Klynn82's Journal, 12 January 2018

Sometimes I feel like such a failure for allowing myself to get this big. Then I have to remind myself that obesity is a sickness, just like anything else and it cannot all be my fault. I know that depression and mental illness play a part.

I know that I want to do this, but it is hard. I have struggled my whole life being overweight. My dad was big, so I feel that some of my size comes from genes. I just want to feel beautiful.

I started Keto recently with my sister because she is getting married in March. I know that I cannot lose 180lbs in less than 3 months, but it would be nice to be on my way to that by the time her wedding rolls around.

I dont know how to tell if I am in ketosis or not, I do know that I have lost some weight, but I still feel like a failure. I feel like I cant do it, that its too hard. I struggle with everything.

I want to live again, I want to ride rollercoasters, I want to swim without being afraid of what people are thinking, I want to walk through the mall and not feel every single eye on me, I want to buy clothes that fit and look nice. I want to be normal.

My mentality is a huge factor for me, also. I feel like I stop myself from allowing myself to be proud of the strides I do make. My stomach doesnt rub on my steering wheel anymore, but in my head I tell myself its because I am sitting different, not that I lost the weight. I am my own worst enemy. I need support, or maybe a therapist...not sure yet! I am struggling. Its so hard.

You can do it! I've done a lot of work these last couple of years about being less judgemental with myself, it helps so much. My daily affirmation is "do the work," because loving yourself enough to make positive changes is work. Find someone to talk to that can help you with the mental aspect of strategizing game plans when things get rough. Love yourself, I'm so proud you are here.

Welcome to our site, a wonderful site to share, vent, whine, laugh, get and give support. You have already mentioned a NWS, your steering wheel not rubbing on your tummy, that is good, so annoying when my stomach rubbed. I always thought I might get a soiled shirt from the rubbing. Keto is good to start with, I think, because you can eat, and don’t suffer too much from hunger and cravings. There are many successful people using keto. I started with keto. My journey has been up and down because of my medical issues and the prescription of prednisone. But the highest weight I have had on FS is 245 pounds with my lowest weight on FS has been 234 pounds. Currently, I have been maintaining at 236. Moving forward I want to go down to 235. Don’t stress too much on your weight but work on staying on your WoE, way of eating and write down what goes in your mouth and write down your activities that you are moving. Talk later, I am following you, You will be successful if you consistently come on this site.

IT IS HARD! But just like you mentioned ... celebrate those "small" moments of realizing your stomach is not rubbing up on the steering wheel. That's a BFD! You earned that moment - ENJOY IT! There are so many positive people on this site to cheer you on. We're all a team on the same wellness journey. You've got this! I've got this. We ALL got this!!! What's another positive thing you've noticed that's different? I'll share one for me. I feel like food isn't controlling me anymore. I'm in control of what I eat and drink. That may sound weird to some, but I know there are people like me.

Klynn82 if there is any failure it is the medical profession and the whole food pyramid thing...that has changed so many times and is still completely wrong...there has been so many "wrong right foods" over the years and the companies push what is easy to package and sell with a long shelf life and high profit that they have been poisoning us for years...and what is right for me and everyone here may not be for you...Ginger Dog, Patty8, From371to184, Kritter1971 have all made excellent comments FS gives the best support and advice around FS is here for YOU! and me and all the rest

You can do it Klynn82. The keto diet is the fastest way to shed those pounds so stay with the plan. If you can possibly try the intermittent fasting of only eating 12-8pm, that works. Veg and protein only, plenty of water.

Welcome to FS! You will get lots of support here. I have tried many different diets, etc to lose weight. Hate being the biggest person in a room full of people. Most of all feeling unhealthy and unable to do everything I want to do. But it is a ongoing struggle. Weight doesn't come off overnight as we all know. It didn't get there overnight. I am currently incorporating different techniques that I have learned over the years to lose weight and to keep my body from fighting against it. Lol, it does sound ridiculous that your body might actually be working against your efforts. Good luck to you. I know you can do this!

You use ketosis strips and the instructions should come with with them. They read a certain color if your body is a state of ketosis. Years ago I tried the Atkins died and I had to use the strips. Back then if you strips were purple, you were in a state of ketosis. I am not sure now. Best to you..you will be great...stay positive and think of losing just 1 pound a time. You not alone with weight issues. Goodness me I been up and down for years. so happy i started back dieting.

You can do this Sis, don't allow satan to plant negative seeds in your mind, I once was just like you, and I started trusting in the Word of God, and people he sent my way to encourage me on my journey, and like you said, we are our worse enemy, but over come, that negative mind, into a positive mindset, and watch God, and encouraging people help you stay on track, he did it for me and I know he can do the same for you, we're all in it to win it, and we will do it, just don't give up, and everyday isn't the same, trust and believe, we all will get through and too our weight loss goal, with each other.

Listen to your story. Look what you've accomplished so far. Give yourself credit for what you've done. Set small goals not just the big ones. Celebrate the little things. That's what leads to the big goal. You have to give yourself credit for what you're doing. You've taken the first step by starting your diet and joining FS. You will have so much support here that it will amaze you. I wouldn't be where I am if it wasn't for the friends here. You've got this!

Klynn82. Hi! 👋 and welcome to the greatest community ever! I totally understand how you feel my dear. I WAS you one year ago. I started my journey at 430 lbs. to date I’ve lost a little over 80 pounds. Started with low carb after diagnosis of diabetes. Went Keto by March 1st. It has literally saved my life. You CAN do this girl. You’re correct, we’re our own worst enemy, but the support here is invaluable! don’t get hung up on the number on the scale, pay more attention to how you feel, how clothes fit, etc. I remember the steering wheel no longer digging into my stomach. The seat belt fitting again, being able to reach my feet (among other things). Please let us know how we can help you. Look forward to seeing your progress, I’m positive you’re gonna shine!! ❤️🙏
