Following a diabetic/thrush diet. Basically no sugar, low low carbs, low fat.
Still learning what and when to eat.

This is an awesome site, they should teach this in school.
Found store bought rotisserie chicken is very bad, so I ordered a Ronco EZ-Store Rotisserie Oven 5250 Series.

Continually adjusting my food intake.

No excuses, like holdays birthdays anniversaries if I want to live to see more.
Remind myself dailey to stay on track!

This is Serious!

As 2017 comes to an end so does my life as a diabetic!
I began 2017 @260 pounds
I dieted off and on but was always aware of fat content and tried to keep
it low.
Then September 14, 2017 I found FatSecret, and many supportive people,I weighed 237.
I was hellbent on ending diabetes.
Ironically I learned more on FS than in any doctors office.
Cut my carbs, drank 8-10 glasses of water, ate chicken, fish, shrimp and more chicken!
Am I sick of water, you betcha, do I still drink it yup!
My determination proved successful, I am NO longer a diabetic!
Did I ever waiver, cheat or go off plan, NO!
The way I looked at it dieting is a mindset and theres something to be said about being a Taurus
that stubborness paid off!
I will be lowering my goal weight as I get closer to my present goal.

If your ready, let's do this!
Diabetes loves carbs, the more you eat the worse it gets.
By cutting your carbs your body uses your own stored fat for
energy, thus you lose weight. Hope this helped you in understanding
How the body works and how to put diabetes in it's place!

Newbie!!
I was sitting here crocheting this morning when I started to feel guilty about not doing any exercise yet today and wasting time crocheting. Just for the heck of it, I looked for a website that would tell me how many calories I burn doing various activities around the house. What I found was very interesting.

/Calories_Burned.asp Click on 'Calculators and Tools', then on 'Calories Burned'

This site gives you lots of information, including the number of calories you burn for your weight. You search for the activity, type in your weight and how long you did that activity, and it tells you how many calories you burned. Here are a few of the things I found out. All were checked at my current weight and for a duration of one hour:

Crocheting - 173 calories per hour. Kinda makes me not feel guilty about this morning!
