Klynn82's Journal, 15 January 2018

I messed up this weekend. I had sloppy joes, I didnt eat a bun, but didnt think about the sauce. I know its silly, but I feel like a failure now. I was doing really well. I had smoked chicken and turkey on Saturday and then Sunday we had dinner as a family and I even opted out of the cheese dip because it was made with velveeta and I think that stuff is poison anyway. I just ate a bowl of meat and didnt think about the sugar laden sauce. I should have. I should have known, but I just wasnt thinking. I know I cant beat myself up, because it doesnt help anything, but I just hate it.

I feel like my face is slimmer. I am not as tired, I wake up easier and can stay up later. I know that this is a good thing for me, I know its going to be hard. I am just too hard on myself.

I have found more acceptance and support on this site than I thought I would though. It is amazing, and you are all such wonderful people. I was part of another website, but they were all weight lifters and gymrat type people and I just didnt find any support or caring there. I see it here and it makes me feel really good. Thank you all!!

Don't worry about eating the sauce. You realized it and now you'll be more observant. This is a journey for all of us and yes, the support here is awesome. As long as you're feeling better it's all good.

There will be times when that happens. What is important is that you did do well, no bun, and you are now aware of of sauce. Not eating bread is a huge change, keep up the observations.

This is a lifelong journey. One bit of sauce is nothing on such a journey. Just praise yourself for what you did right and start again on each new day. Don’t you just love the fact that we get a do over each and every day? You got this!!

You’re doing great, we all make mistakes. I probably wouldn’t have thought about the sauce either! Now you know tho, so there’s only improvement in your future! Keep it up!

Klynn82, Try not to beat yourself up. We all make mistakes. Just start over from this point and realize you will make mistakes every once in awhile but just keep going. I know for myself it's a constant battle. I went off counting calories yesterday but today I told myself to start it up again today. I have a lot of weight to lose so it's going to take quite a while before I attain it. Anyway... don't give up!😊

You’re doing awesome! Thanks for sharing. Slipping up does not make you a failure, it makes you human - welcome to the club, there’s like seven billion of us! We’re all in this together. :)

You will get the hang of keto better as you continue. When you mess up like that, 1. Stop! Don't say, "I might as well finish eating the whole thing" or think that the day is blown. 2. Drink a couple of glasses of water, to help flush out the carbs. 3. Do something physical - a walk around the house, up and down the stairs, whatever, just move. 4. Eat something very high fat - pats of butter, macadamia nuts or pecans, or Fat Bombs if you have any. Adapting to ketosis can take up to 6 weeks, though adapting back to glucose fueling is very fast. Any time you have a gain of over 2 lbs, take action! I use an Atkins Fat Fast (3 days max) to take it back off. It takes a while for your body to stabilize after weight loss, and you don't want to regain what you worked so long and hard to lose!

Just keep going regardless of slips along the way. Everyday on track makes the next day easier.

By the way I am definitely a "gymrat type people" but take no offense to your comment and would tend to agree with you regarding the absence of empathy.

Think of it as the price of a lesson you wont forget. Each day is a new opportunity to apply what you've learned.

And you're down 3 lbs. Wow!

You got this! You made a mistake and learned something from it. You can't succeed without the occasional bump, you only fail when you give up, don't give up. When you feel like saying something negative to yourself imagine you are saying it to me, or any of the other people here supporting you. If you wouldn't say it to my face don't say it to yourself. We are here cheering you on!

God, through his son, forgives every sin you have committed and every sin you will ever commit. If He can do that for you, then it's okay if you forgive yourself for a mistake. Keep on keeping on!

I’d say, “All around success”. Keep up the good fight.

You are NEVER a Failure !!! And it is not a mistake, You are actually doing a Refeed, to keep your body moving !! in a positive direction, Sometimes the body needs a few extra carbs to kick it into gear And the next meal is a new beginning!!...Good luck FS warrior !!!

@JulieBL, I'm hoping you'll see this response to Klynn82's post. (Since you're not sharing your data, I can't Follow or Message you directly.) I'd like to invite you to join a new group called "Christian Community." (Klynn82 just joined today!) It is a safe place where people -- Christian or not -- can share prayer requests and BE prayed for and encouraged by others and by the Word of God. I'd like to invite you to join, if this is something you think you could benefit from (or a way in which you think you could benefit others). Hope to see you there soon!
