chesgreen's Journal, 10 March 2021

The scale number maybe higher for my weekly weigh in coming up tomorrow. It appears I retain more water with excess sodium vs excess carbs as the logging is uncovering it. I may have to keep logging and analyzing the data over the weeks.

This will sound weird, but I respect the data although I HATE logging (I don't hate much as this is probably the most DESTRUCTIVE emotion). Logging is painting a interesting picture of my journey.

I am content with my current progress. I've had 10 weigh ins for March and my avg weight is 223.4 which so far, is better than my 227.2 avg in February. I will keep pushing. Go Go Go!!!!

Tip: Balance your intake of sodium with an intake of potassium. I recently learned this myself. Potassium helps balance the fx of sodium in the body. Bananas and low sodium V8 juices are my favorite go-tos.

Same thoughts about logging, carbs, and sodium. Unless I'm going from ketogenic to 200+ in a day, it's not the carbs making a big difference for me.

You are doing great. Analyze away. It's a great way to stay away from the munchies!

No need for logging to be forever. Once you've gotten a handle on portion sizes and you've memorized the calorie counts, it just becomes habit to just eat the right number to lose weight. If you're losing less than a pound a week, ditch one of the snacks you usually have or cut portion sizes. I haven't logged anything in years, but I remember what I ate when I was thin.

I'm with ya, haha. I've started just handwriting everything in a tiny notebook in my kitchen, and then transferring it to FS in the evenings when I have time. The logging is the most annoying part - but the data that come out of it are fascinating to me. If only there was a way to beam that information directly from our skulls into this app. 😆 You're doing great, though!!

I weigh in daily - it’s stressful but not as stressful as waiting a few days, you kinda get used to the ups and downs, though I detest the ups and love the downs! An emotional roller coaster 🎢 - until I develop the maturity and equanimity to handle it. 😂
