Lifting Day
100+ carbs planned

⚖️ So happy I lost another pound. I thought 'bulking' was going to be a 'continual rise to the top'. I initially gained 7 pounds in 7 days so I figured I would be at 180 and need to do a 'cut' (lose weight) in another week! But, on non-lifting days, I have been low carb, no 'intense cardio' just walking (because I don't want to mess with my 'recovery' after lifting), and it seems I have stopped the 'rapid' weight gain. 🏁 Winning!

💪 Normally I would lift on Monday night, but I have to travel early Tuesday so I will lift today. I am looking forward to lifting, but, not looking forward to eating a calorie surplus.🧘🏾‍♂️ Mentally, 'eating a lot' is hard on me now...

🍔 This means I get to 'carb up' today. Again, I'm NOT looking forward to it. I already had a Big Mac on Friday, and while it was nice, it was not as nice as it was in my head when I was not allowing myself to have it...

🥣 I think I will start by eating the rest of the cereal in the house, but I have to check the expiration on the box because I haven't touched the stuff since March...

Have a great day everyone!

@baskington - That is a solid suggestion, but my body seems to reject 'a lot of fat'. I literally can only consume it to a certain point and then I get the felling that it wants to 'come back up'! However, I seem to be able to consume the protein no problem. Perhaps the fact that in some cases my body can consume it like carbs is the reason...

@rosio19 - All this time people have said 'lift weights' for results and keep the cardio to a minimum. I am now a believer... But, I do plan to start running again when I 'cut' because I really enjoy running.

@jengetfit123 - The only thing that I think I have done recently of note is to demonstrate that, for me, lifting weights make a HUGE difference. However, I am lifting a set of dumbbells I have had for over 2 years. However, now, in a single day, I am picking them up and working muscles, more than I would do in 2-3 months before! This is the only reason I am 'carbing up'. My body simply cannot lift this hard without 'sufficient levels of glycogen' in my body.

Adef— you said something very powerful and I hope you realize it. You said you ate a Big Mac and although it was good— it was not as good as it was in your head when you were not allowing yourself to have it. Removing forbiddeness/and guilt associated with eating certain foods removes the power that food hold over us. I know you feel that you have special food issues but regardless, that was a very powerful insite for you.

Way to go on the win! Always great when something works out so well! Isn't it funny how things often don't taste as good as you imagine they would.

We want what we can’t have, when we can have it we don’t want it as much 👌🏼
