baskington's Journal, 17 November 2018

I have been testing my new macro's and for the past 11 days I have been well over my calories everyday. My maintenance RDI without exercise is around 1430. With the higher fat to more moderate (for me) protein, I find I can eat a lot more calories and be more comfortable. In fact my appetite has picked up a lot, so different from having to force myself to eat. I really killed my appetite going too low on calories not counting any other damage which I have written on and off about.

Over these past few months I have been rediscovering foods that negatively effect my body and my weight loss. I have also found foods that cause me flare ups of my fibro. I strongly encourage anyone struggling with their program so document their food and any reactions to the types of foods they eat. I know many of you have already been discovering these things as you search to figure out why you stall or have random weight gains. these are all clues to something is off.

My brain fog caused me a great deal of confusion and definitely delayed me getting to a point of figuring this all out. cutting out foods that negatively effected me made all the difference.

I have not been exercising during this period as I wanted to have no complications from water retention from workouts confusing my simple test. I have had items I have limited reactions to, mostly my coffee and cream which causes me pain and sinus/congestion. Yes I do have to stop that. I have had other meat meals and testing seasonings, which show me I am still not ready for seasonings too much brain fog and other symptoms.

I avoid other dairy or flour which do cause me to gain.

This week I will continue to over eat my RDI, I will attempt to clean up my diet again of the pain foods. And maybe this will help me to not only feel better but to also promote a little fat loss. I am not looking to lose more weight. I don't know if I will exercise.

Don't be timid about testing things, play with your macro's if you are stalling, test different foods in your plan if you think some of them may be causing issues. learning about your own body is a good thing!

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend.

I applaud your procedure. May you find remaining clues to your problem sources soon!

Great work. This will help a lot of people including myself. An odd thing I have found in my trials and experiments is solid food brings back my allergies. When I used to get sick (I never seem to get sick lately) my appetite would go away. Seems this is what the body does to heal itself.

Good work Bask. It does take time and commitment to figure it out. Glad you found what works and doesn't. It's not always about weight loss, but instead living the life you want. ❤

Thank you Tom, I think most of my problems one by one are getting cleared or as much as I can at this point. The healing will continue!

I hope it does Adef, I have struggled with this food thing on and off for decades. Real pain to go from eating anything and everything with no issues then boom! new issues. I hope you track which of the solid foods set off your allergies too. this is an important part of your long term plan too. My mucus build up this week I have to figure out if it is from the seasoning, the coffee and cream or the new meats. I added too much at one time. So hopefully this week I will be more strict and stick to my beef and buffalo meat. My chicken bone broth really messes with me, so I have to see if that is the onion I added or the chicken bone broth being more aged, causing a histamine reaction. I really want that collagen, so still hoping I can find a way to tolerate it.

Yes Becc@ it is probably the most important part, long term plan to enjoy your life. I will always be restricted, but I can make it more enjoyable.

You certainly have been working hard to find out what works for you and I am so happy you seem to be getting there - especially that you can now eat enough again - great job putting in the work - you deserve great rewards!!
