Just turned 30, busy professional in the science/health fields. I'm going to school part-time for my MBA while working full-time so I'm pretty busy.

I should state up front that I'm tall for a girl - 5'9" and I've never really had a delicate frame (childbearing hips come to mind) so I get told that I can "get away" with a few extra pounds and people usually don't guess that I weigh as much as I do. Thing is, I have a family history of heart disease so now that I've turned 30, I really have to bring my weight down just for health matters. I'm a stress eater and unemployment and various other things in my life have lead me to pile on the pounds and I didn't realize just how much I'd piled on until after the fact. In the short run, I'd like to get back to where most of my clothes fit again (somewhere around 230ish), then back to my old low weight (187) then long-term goal of 165 (with my height/bone structure, I'm not sure how much below that I could go and still be healthy).

Waist: 35" (- 2.25")
Hips: 46 1/2" (- 2")
Right thigh (widest part) 24" (- 3.25")
Left thigh (widest part) 24.5 " (- 3.5")
Right bicep (widest part) 12 1/2" (- .5")
Left bicep (widest part) 13" (no change)
(Numbers in parenthesis indicate change since Sep 2010)

Wow, I just caught this show tonight for the first time and I'm really captivated by this show. I really have to admit that I love that they have them speak to a therapist since some of the people clearly have emotional problems. So much of it is mental and it's so nice to have a show address that (instead of just yelling at someone to run faster for example).

Kate, if you become the trainer at one of these places, sign me up!

Has no one noticed your weight loss yet?
Johanne - 37lbs of water weight isn't possible unless you're in like renal failure. People can be so dense sometimes.

I haven't had many people notice, but I'm in a kind of weird situation, people know I've lost weight but I haven't really SEEN most of my friends (blame my psycho life, lol.). So coworkers haven't really said anything and I haven't seen most of my friends since like Labor Day. I did have one look at me in complete shock a few weeks back but I know the comments are going to come like crazy at the holidays when I go home/actually have time to see people.

Of course, I'm also planning to buy a cute dress and go party so that's part of it, lol. I feel like strutting it, I look cute these days. Smile
