Today I feel like a forty something crazy lady who will do it all and love every minute of it.

Yes, I am in my forties, and yes, I am a little crazy. I work hard, I play hard, and I love my family and friends to the moon and back.

I own my own business (that I love)! I serve my community as best I can. I walk to work out, and I dance to loud music when I get really stressed. The only tears I shed are tears of joy.

I am a wife, a mother, a sister, a daughter, a professional, and a tiny bit of a hippy chick.

I've been an on again off again user of FatSecret for a long time. I have finally come to the conclusion that the only way I will keep the weight off for good is to stop fighting with the word "should" and start accepting who and where I am at the moment. I'm here for the long haul.

calorie intake
Try incorporating avocados into your daily meal plan. They are high calorie. low fructose, and super good for you. I eat one with a dollop of hummus almost every day.

I find that I sometimes plateau for 2 or 3 weeks and then like magic I'll drop a bunch all at once. I can't explain it, I just know it happens.

Keep doing what your doing and it will be fine. If after a couple weeks you still haven't dropped, you may want to mix up your intake a bit. If you do low cal, try moving to low fat. If you do low carb, try moving to low cal, etc... I find that sometimes I just need to let my body have the particular food I've been denying it and then my fat cells relax and let go! Smile

Best of luck! Don't let this momentary delay frustrate you. Remember to breathe deeply!

Diet secrets
Stress is a diet killer. The more stressed I am, the more I mindlessly stuff food in my mouth. When I can, I get out of the office and go for a quick walk to clear my head. But, that's not always possible.

One trick I have been able to do successfully is to keep a lot of sugar free gum around. I get every flavor under the rainbow (there's even some that tastes like apple pie)and then instead of reaching for the bag of pretzels, I grab the gum.

I just find it's easier to stay on the diet wagon, than to fall off. With every slip seems to be harder to climb back on again. And believe me I have fallen off more times than I can remember.
