Former runner in high school and college, ate what ever I wanted for years. Continued running after college (recreationally). As I got older, running began to hurt more and more. In my mid thirties I had a snow skiing accident and had surgery on my knee. I was told to give up running (and skiing). I sold the ski's and bought new running shoes. I kept seeing my doctor for different leg ailments and his answer was always to quit running. Finally bought a bike and an elliptical to go with my treadmill (used for fast walking or slow jogging only). In July of 2010 I got serious about eating and working out and had lost about 15 pounds by doing one hour of cardio every morning (rotating between the three machines) and one hour of weights every other evening. Then my elliptical broke, work got busy, I took a night class (10 weeks long plus lab work)....and I put all the weight back on plus about 10 more. Elliptical is now fixed, class is over but work is just as busy. Its a new year! I joined the fitness center at work and take 3 classes a week, stairmaster one day a week and the other 3 days I work out at home. I am confident that I lose the weight again.

I take two spin classes a week and they also have speed, hills, jumps and running (on the bike). I enter it as fast (15 mph). Its a great workout!
