I changed my diet because I think I taylored a way to lose at least 2 pounds per week. I will eat no more than 1350 calories per day, everyday, until I lose 68 more pounds. I will write everything down to include my calories, fat, carbs, and protein contents. My goal is to keep my fat content under 30% of my total calories and my carbohydrate content no more than 40%. My intent is to begin exercising, at least 30 minutes per day, five days per week. My goal is to lose 68 lbs. and will give myself at least 34 weeks to reach it. I will not give up because I have the desire, determination and dedication to do what I need to do.

50 LB WLC - WEEK #3
I found an old book at a used book store. It's called Get With The Program by Bob Greene. I think he was on Oprah a lot at one time. It has great information in it, particularly on emotional eating. I want to share something that was written in the book.

New Words To Live By
 Stop comforting yourself by stuffing down your feelings of sadness, regret, fear, and frustration with cheeseburgers, pizza, pie, and potato chips.

 Stop comforting yourself by numbing yourself from
the everyday stresses of work and family life by
falling prey to obsessive-compulsive snacking.

 Stop comforting yourself by fooling yourself that you can fill a void in your personal or professional life simple with food.

50 LB WLC - WEEK #3
Arrow Boy, this is something that I'm really trying my hardest to deal with. I too, am an emotional eater. I also eat when I'm bored which is something I've identified this past week. I was alone all week and bored so what did I do? I caught myself picking up food regularly.

I have been inundating myself with any literature I can find to learn about emotional eating. I'm trying real hard to understand this so I can attack it with a vengance! Today, I actually started to experience hunger before I ate!

My goal is to overcome emotional eating. To accomplish this I will:
- read and learn about emotional eating on a daily basis;
- really pay attention to what I'm doing and not eat when I'm not hungry;
- train myself to think at food as "fuel" and myself as a vehicle.

50 LB WEIGHT LOSS CHALLENGE - WELCOME
Arrow I lost a pound this week! I was at 2 but gave in to temptation at DQ with my grandson. Other than that, I'm feeling real good about things.

The bad news is I didn't exercise as much as I wanted. And I don't have a good excuse. My exercise partner was out of town and I used that as a terrible excuse. No more though. I learned my lesson. I did muck out my house though and that generated a good sweat! Needless to say, I'll count my actual time doing formal exercise and that is 120 minutes.
