I am 50 and live in Alberta. I was on Atkins about 15 years ago and lost about 80 pounds. I got to 210 and felt pretty good. Since then my weight slowly crept back until I reach 259 in Jan of this year . I thought about going back on Atkins when my wife told me about the HCG drops. I tried them in Jan. Feb and lost 29 pound in 22 days. When I went off because I had to go on a business trip where eat was excepted. I started back on the drops after a 6 week break. Its been a week and I'm back down to the weight I quite at.
I have had trouble figuring out what my ideal weight should. When I was married I weight 195 and was fit. When I finished Atkins I got to 210 and felt pretty good. About 4 years ago I went to the doctors and they measured me with this scale that are designed to tell you how much of your body is bone, muscle and fat. They said that it can change as you lose weight because when you lose weight you lose not only fat but muscles too and when you get older your bone mass can decrease. Anyway they told me that I should weight between 195 and 210. I felt pretty good at 210 so I may stop there but I think I would like to try for 200.
I work full time and have a wife and 4 kids. My youngest is 17 and he leaves for university in the fall. That will make us empty Nester's. I have a demanding job which at times makes it difficult to live with a schedule. I enjoy my work and hope to do it for many years yet to come but I would like to also start get out more.
Last summer my son and I bought motorcycles. I got a Vulcan custom 900 and he got a ninja. It has been alot of fun and I hope to go on a trip with him before he leaves for university. That will be easier if I lose the weight.
I am glad that I found Fatsecret it has been great to have a place to track my progress and to see how others are doing.
