I am entering my senior years (now 62!) but know that I have more energy when at a slightly lower weight. So I'm trying to lose 15 lbs, not quickly but steadily. I'm an avid golfer, walking the courses six months of the year, riding the other six. Plus my partner & I do both ballroom and line dancing. We both belong to a gym & try to work out regularly believing strongly in the benefits of weightlifting. Being very social is my weight control much eating out & too much wine! I believe this website will be the tool I need to get back on track!

What would you tell your 16 year old self?
I'd say: buy some contraceptives, get an education, live life to the fullest but without feeling full - sometimes it's best to run on half-way empty. Also it's ok not to be perfect - no one is so enjoy being who you are, what you look like, how you feel...don't live for others...that'll do for now.

I am on the Atkins diet on induction and gaining weight! Please help.
You might want to try which works with your metabolism. Sometimes that's the key. I've read the book but haven't yet tried the diet myself. Anyone else out there trying it?

Older women????
Missing about the 55 cal stuff - better than nothing. I've a friend swears by it as it lets her be part of the group without too many empty cals!

Gracestone, we're the same age. I think I'm a very active person and sometimes wonder how can I be more active than I am. And the answer is getting away from my laptop. I love Facebook, reading email, researching, learning line dances from Youtube and of course, keeping track & motivated by Fatsecret. I think I'm going to try doing less online and more on My line (my shape, that is)!
