Born in Adelaide South Australia May 13th 1942. Married Maurie August 5th 1961 and started married life at Woomera Rocket Range in SA. Moved to Melbourne Victoria in 1970 (too wet and cold) so back to SA 1980 ish.
Lived at Plympton for 18 years running a "boutique" boarding cattery.
Moved to Townsville Queensland in 1985 (chasing the warmer weather) and still here!
In my life I have been a theatre Usherette, Theatre Booking Office Cashier, Cattery Owner/manager, Lettering artist and Calligraphy teacher (still am but "semi" retired now!) Dog Obedience Trainer (we obedience trained & showed Dobermans all our lives until 10 years ago.)
We have 2 sons. One (47) in Canberra who has two girls (13 & 4) plus two girls in Perth from 1st marriage (24 & 22). Second son (43)lives in Adelaide and has 2 sons (9 & 7).
Hobbies? Reading, reading and more reading! Films, plus of course Calligraphy, Bookbinding & Boxmaking, Music (everything EXCEPT "Country & Western" & "Heavy Metal") good food and wine (Maurie was a professional Winemaker back in Adelaide) and cooking.
Exercise? Not enough!.....I swim when I can but I suffer from Myalgic Encephalomylitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, (now coming up 4 and a half years) so exercise and many other things are difficult.
Health? Less said the better!!
And that's pretty much it......In spite of everything, I love life, I love my man and our family and every morning is a bonus these days! :-))

I learned my lesson about diet pill
I also use a meal replacement "helper", only taking it if I am feeling extremely hungry, better to have a glass of that than something fattening that I shouldn't have. I have only started doing it this week and it seems to get me over the "humps". I use the product Optislim (coffee flavour) and instead of mixing it with water (which is a bit nasty!) I mix it with half real black coffee and half skimmed milk.......anyway, so far so good. I usually can get through the day with only one shake, which spins it out.

low carb diet pros and cons please
I have only just started on a low GI (Glycemic INdex) diet and since Sunday I have lost about one and a half kilos (about 3.5 pounds) so far, which is very encouraging. My husband is an ex winemaker, so wine is a part of our life, I have cut our evening wine down but not out. I have one glass of dry white and one glass of dry red and fill up with iced water in between sips of wine.......
