I'm a 32 yr old female who is 5'8" tall and was born and raised in a small town in Southeast Louisiana (hence my username). I have a classic Mesomorph body type (there's a pic of me at 5 yrs old in kiddie swimwear and i look like a mini bodybuilder lol). I never had to worry about weight or anything growing up and always excelled in sports, etc so I had A LOT of learning to do about fat and food during my weightloss journey. I had been trying to lose weight for 1.5 years and finally (because i didnt give up) it worked! My heaviest weight was 263 lbs (or US size 18 jean) in Oct 2012. Since then, I've lost 118 pounds! I didn't join FatSecret until Feb 2013 though. My goal weight was to get back to 155 lbs (or US size 8 jean) -- REACHED MY WEIGHTLOSS GOAL, AND AM NOW 145 POUNDS!!! Prior to weightgain, I had been exeedingly healthy and fit for a vast majority of my life being involved in multiple sports when i was preteen through teen age and continuing my early 20's in college being super active running 2-4 miles a day along with being active in recreational activities/sports. At age 27, I started slowly gaining weight after a divorce (was with that person from age 19 to age 27). I'm so grateful to have completely healed from that heartbreaking situation now in order to be healthy in every area of my life today. This weightloss journey has been one of the hardest things I've done in my life, but I took it one day at a time along with hard work and dedication to reach my goal. :D

Lagniappe = "a little something extra": I love movies...a lot. No, really...I'm a cinema geek. Though I enjoy every movie genre, I have a huge soft spot for documentaries. :D

Update: I have tried Nutiva Organic Chia Seeds for a few months now and Im not sure if it works for weightloss but I think it's awesome for overall health and weightloss maintenance. 1 tbsp has 5g of Fiber, 3g of Protein, and 2.5g of Omega 3. It has a gelatinous consistency when mixed with 8 ozs of water but you get used to that after a while. I fully recommend. Great Luck! Very Happy

What type of beverage to consume in the evening?
Maybe try Decaf Green Tea and/or Decaf Chai (personal fav). Those are my go-to beverages outside of water, and I drink my tea completely plain. You can drink those 2 options at any time of the day and not worry about the caffeine interrupting your sleep if you have a cup at night or the added sugar throwing a monkey wrench into your diet. I'm not a coffee drinker (by choice..sleep is important to me Lol!) so I can't give any options there. Tea has been very helpful in my weightloss though. Great luck to you! Very Happy

digital scales HELP!
I *just* bought a kitchen scale a month ago! I don't know why I never got around to buying one a year ago at the beginning of my weightloss journey LOL! Now, I don't know how I could ever live without one. Today, having reached my weightloss goal, i've found this scale is excellent for maintaining weightloss too! Seriously, it was the best $23.99 (on SALE!) I have ever spent at Walgreens! Well, besides my Clio palmperfect and Clio beauty trimmer purchases -- my unibrow (etc, etc!) situation is real! Anywho, the kitchen scale I purchased is the Escali Primo Digital Scale in the warm red color. It weighs up to 5000 grams (or 11 pounds), measures in pounds + ounces and grams, it's compact/portable, has automatic shut-off, does TARE which is the zeroing thing you mentioned (add + weigh), and comes with 2 batteries. This thing is great! You can even weigh your letters if you want (multifunction).

how do you curve your cravings and reduce your appetite?
Update: 1-2 tablespoons of Organic Unfiltered Raw Apple Cider Vinegar in 8 ozs of water works pretty well too. Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy
