HI!! I am a 37 year old wife and mother. I am currently trying to learn a new lifestyle to make for a better and healthier me.
I used to be pretty active and ate somewhat "balanced" meals. Running was my sport of choice. I used to run about 4 miles 5 days a week. I was not particularly fast, but it was always a thrill to watch my 5K times get better and better. Then, after having my daughter, I had 12 lbs to lose and was getting back into running when I found myself in the ER with excrutiating pain in my back. An MRI revealed I have 2 ruptured discs in my lower back and 2 bulging discs in my neck.
Fast forward to me gaining alot of weight and being utterly miserable. So, in an effort take my life back, I started atkins on November 26, 2012. I also bought an elliptical and am working on building up my endurance. It's not as enjoyable as running, but with almost no impact on my back I'm able to get on 4-5 days.
It also helps that my husband is so wonderful and supportive. He decided to do this with me. I have to admit I'm jealous...he is leaving me in the dust with the weight loss. But, I'm so happy for him, his blood pressure is normal for the first time in 4 years!!
So, I began Atkins at 181 pounds with a goal weight of 140.
God has blessed me immensely with my beautiful family. I rely on Him daily and hope that through all things I can bring Him glory.
