when you are away from home!
It has been difficult to switch from dieting, when I knew exactly what I was going to eat for the day to maintaining, when I do not do the daily planing. I have a tendency to give everything I eat a calorie count of 100 which of course is not correct - but now I have the new SAMSUNG phone that has the calorie counter which syncs with fatsecret. I did not get the phone for this reason and did not even realize it did this. This is sooooo cool. (Can you tell I am in my 50s? I still use the word cool.) Anyway this is the coolest. (It just keeps getting worst doesn't it?) This is also the best phone I have ever had since I have gone to a phone that is more of a computer than it is a phone. The Barcode Scan features really works. Now I do not have to guess on the calorie count and hopefully this will keep me on task.

Avoiding those Cravings.... HOW?
Hi Foodisevil. When I started my diet I was all excited, did great and it was easier to avoid those cravings. I am now in the maintenance phase and I have found it not so easy. I know that if I begin eating something like that it will trigger the old I need something salty, then something sweet, then something salt routine. Don't eat it! I believe that as you move ahead your cravings will decrease. You are in a phase where you are changing what you will be craving. Wanting the McD cone will change. As you start eating different. Your new craving for something sweet will be satisfied by having fresh fruit. Your body is going through withdrawal. So is your mind. It is not all in your tummy. It is also in your mind. Each and every day you avoid it you become stronger person, more in control of your life in general. We can justify anything. One bite, just this one, it does not work that way with cravings. Your body is craving something you use to give it on a regular basis, if you give in you are further away from making your goal. You actually have several goals. One is the goal you are most aware of, you mentally decided to loose weight. There are other goals you might think about. You might think about those goals -

Justbreath stated "Though some may disagree with me--because we all have our own unique ways"

So true - you will find your unique way. There will periods when you feel you have lost your unique way but be patient with yourself and know you will find it.

Good luck.

Late night sweet tooth
I understand what you are saying - I feel evening is the hardest part, sweet tooth or not, it is difficult to stick with the diet. When I have an urge to eat I give myself 10 minutes and it is surprising how that works. Also change your schedule. Go outside, do something different; exercise. Something that breaks the habit of wanting to eat after your daughter goes to bed. Picture it is your mind, she is in bed and you are watching your favorite show, or reading a book, or doing exercising. Try to get a new picture. Good Luck!

I do not understand
I reached my goal of 115. (I am 5.2) But gained three pounds back. I understand this because I broke some of my must live by rules; like do not clean up the kids plates by eating what they have left, do not sample recipes, basically, do not eat any calories you are not going to count.

The last 4 days I followed my diet and exercised. I have been down about 900 calories the last four days yet not loosing the weight. Very frustrated!

TRX
I have started participating in an TRX exercise program. I have been unable to get calorie burning information. I really do not see any exercise program that I would feel comfortable using for the calories used. It is an estimate the way it is let alone trying to use a similar exercise program. Does anyone have that information or have suggestions on where to find it. By the way, if you have not tried TRX you must. You will like this program if you are out of shape. It is hard at first, actually it is still hard, but I have never tried an exercise program that started to firm me up so quickly.
