I am a 66 year old Type II diabetic. I am married; 44 years; with four daughters, 16 Grand children and 7 Great Grand children. I am a Coatings Chemist by trade for the last 43 years. I am an Ex-marine, Vietnam Vet.

I have been known to play with a guitar as well as a trumpet and a violin.
I'm a computer freak who loves to cook and listen to audio books. I do a bit of woodworking and am in the process of rebuilding my kitchen.

You may have noticed that I have not mentioned sports or exercise. No reason to guess. I hate physical activity even though I understand the need for It.

1200 Calories written in STONE , What's with that?
I have been assigned a calorie level of 2900 a day. I have been eating 1800 or less for the last 20 years and all I've done is gain weight. Now they tell me that I'm not loosing because I don't eat enough and my body thinks I'm starving. My diabetes educator is telling me that My blood sugar and weight will stabilize if I start increasing my calories and carbohydrates. I have been following their advice for a year now. My starting weight was 370 and I fluctuate between 352 and 365. Up & Down.
I don't think any of them have a clue. I've been a type II diabetic for 26 years and have seen the advice come around 360 degrees. So i am still looking for something that works.
