I'm a 42 yr old male born in 1970 in southern California. I was always known as the chubby kid growing up and as I got older my weight also increased. I was never pushed or motivated to do sports so I was always inactive growing up. I tried many diets and weight loss regimens with no luck.
Only once did I actually start losing weight when I did the low carb diet and exercise for about 9 months. I went from roughly 260 lbs to 225. I felt great losing it, hit then I hit a plateau and I just couldn't figure out how to get past it. Eventually I lost motivation and stopped working out....and eventually stopped dieting. That was in 2004.
By 2007 I had ballooned up to nearly 300lbs.
In 2010 I decided I seriously needed to lose weight for health reasons and the only way was surgery followed buy a life style change. I had Lap Band surgery in Aug 2011, I was 309 lbs. I have since lost about 40-45lbs over the past year and hope to continue to lose weight. I'm currently struggling with weight loss due to inactivity. I tore my Achilles and can't do a whole lot of walking or exercise so I try harder with my diet. I love my fat secret app, it helps me keep to my 2000 calorie diet. I love the fact I can find good recipes, nutrition facts and follow other people's diet ideas, recipes and exercise regimens.
