I am a 50 years young partier living in Newport News and build ships for a living - pays the bills and keeps me physically active.

FatSecret has helped me (almost!) reach my goal, but of course, we all slip sometimes. My excuse is the Holidays! But I am back on track.

Check out my diet I created (out of countless hours of research and trial-and-error). I proved it works, at least to myself. You may be hungry at first, but if you're like me, you'll adapt make it a habit.

I lost 60 lbs in 4 months with this diet I developed. It's not expensive, it's easy to track, and it's challenging to find the types of food that work well. Just thought I'd put it out there folks!
By the way, as in any diet regimen; if you don't follow it, the weight will return, as I have proven. But don't fret! It's easy to start back up! Enjoy and good luck!

Need Support
My partner still eats how she wants, and buys the worst food for my diet. But I have my own food that she thinks is gross, but keeps me thin! I guess the weight loss is its own reward; you have to make YOU happy, not others. Want motivation? Look in the mirror. Do it naked. Yikes! Scared heck out of me when I did that. Getting on that scale helped my motivation also. Plus, once you start the program and see results (weight on the scale drops, clothes too loose, compliments from others). I have come up on people I haven't seen in a couple years and they didn't recognize me. That is just plain FUN.
I slip, as you can see by my profile, but I get back into it. Calorie Counter and this site are fabulous and constantly motivate me.

The eliptical sounds fun. Check out my diet and see if that may work for you.

Anyone Fall off the wagon and lose track of how long it was?
"I think a break can be good as long as you don't go nuts and gain the weight back."

I would FREAK OUT gaining back the weight that I had lost? Wink

Just me. I am beginning to believe that exersize is the key to "ideal" weight.

Sex and the Exercise Diary
Same as stair climbing. Wait... that was 20 years ago. Now "standing". Maybe - or maybe fast running? I think that is a big "it depends". I am an "easy and make it last long" now... ooops, there are youth in the room. What sex? No such thing.

My Fridge
Oh yeah - fat free cottage cheese, ff yogurt, ff cheese, ff milk, carrots, cabbage brocolli, salad stuff, mostly fat-free, some low-fat.
Cabinets are about the same: canned veggies, tuna, rice, Healthy Choice soups - whew! Big difference from 3 months ago!
