trishy1966's Journal, 14 November 2017

I left this program and my challenge. Ate what I wanted and regret every bit of it. This is so hard and so not fair. While George can eat whatever he wants and does absolutely ZERO exercise, he is a couch potato and I am actively riding horses or walking or something. Why can't he gain and yet I gain just LQQKING at damn food! Well so today I am actively trying to eat by the KETO diet. I can't believe I have to give up everything I love to eat to be happy..that is NOT going to make me happy. This just SUCKS!!!!

You don’t have to get up your favorites. I just tweak mine a little bit. I still eat the foods I love.

You can't sabbotage yourself this way and win. Never compare yourself to anyone else's weight loss especially men. Men tend to lose a lot faster. Do you write everything you eat down? This is key, I plan ahead write it down and delete or add my food after supper. I don't eat after 6pm! I don't snack I eat three meals a day. There are plenty of successful keto dieters on fs hopefully they can guide you, good luck!

Determine which foods you "cannot" part with and figure out what size portion of it won't bust your carb limit for the day... then "treat" yourself with that amount daily. This WOE is an education for all of us, because each of us will have their bodies reacting differently to the change.

It won't SUCK for long. Give it about 2-4 weeks to detoxify. It's almost like dope and alcohol, depression and anger goes with it.

try this - put everything that you eat down - figure the goods and the bads - go from there - The big thing I miss is breads and pastas - There is always a situation like this in everyone's life - Show him! Good luck and do it for you -

I completely understand how you're feeling. I'm the same way. I just told my partner last night...at this time, I'm miserable with this WOE, but I'm also miserable being so overweight, unhealthy, and out of good physical condition. I had to ask myself what misery do I really want to part with? It's the overweight and unhealthy misery I want rid of. I'm really glad you posted this today...now I don't feel alone in thinking this just SUCKS! I've read that it gets easier and better. I've done this lifestyle change before, but it seems my results are so much slower this time. Good luck to you. May you have the strength to endure!

I'm no ketovangelist, but ... it's such a beautiful thing to have no cravings. Plus, my maintenance RDI on keto is about twice what it is on a standard western diet, and quite a bit higher than on low-ish carb, so I'm eating too much to feel deprived. If you decide to really try keto ...maybe ease into it? "Keto Christina" on youtube has really good videos with suggestions on how to transition without suffering. This should feel like abundance, not misery! It's also worth starting with goal of maintenance while becoming fat-adapted and until cravings vanish. Or maybe it's just me who can't stick with ANYthing that feels diet-y.

I really understand you, Why we have to love so much the food and be so propensive to fat. Im here again, trying to stard for second time. Like you I love food, it very difficult to me. You are not alone, try harder and be busy to not think in the hungry

There are other ways to eat. I do watch my carbs (don't look at my food diary for today though!), try not to go much higher than 100. Otherwise I watch calories, try not to eat too many processed foods. But I know there are so many people who swear by KETO. Once I get to a maintenance weight I am hoping portion control will be enough.

I know how you feel. I know what deprivations of food feels like! About 6 years ago I found that I could no longer eat gluten- bye bye everything awesome! But I learned how to make what I loved. Then I learned I had a dairy and egg allergy. Bye bye more of everything awesome! All the while not losing weight from removing these items from my diet. After curing myself of Fibromyalgia with juicing, my cells felt nourished for the 1st time, I decided I no longer needed to eat meat. Bye bye more awesome. After 3 years as an on/off vegan(sometimes I snuck cheese) I had gained 30 pounds! So much for eating clean! I found Dr Berg on YouTube when I started intermittent fasting and I couldn't believe that keto and eating fat could help me lose weight. Hundreds of videos and hours of research later, plus being on keto for 4 months and I am a believer. I still don't eat meat, but I have added egg and dairy which doesn't react badly in my body anymore. The best part is I actually feel full eating less calories (mostly from fat) and I have energy and feel great! Men will always lose weight more quickly because they don't have the same kind of hormonal reactions that we do. Even after being on keto for 4 months, I have only lost 13lbs. Do I wish I could be down more? Hell yes! But what I realized is that I need to heal the insulin resistance before my body will readily start letting go of my fat. You are doing great! Keep going! Don't compare- just keep doing what you need to do for you! Much love and support for you on your journey!

And, by the way, I eat keto pizza and chocolate whipped cream all the time. It's awesome! No deprivations here.

Completely understand and feel your pain. I definitely still struggle but have found that I'm not having as difficult a time this go around because I'm counting calories and allowing myself to eat whatever I want pretty much as long as I stay within my calorie allotment. Still dont get to have as much as I want but I don't have to deal with constant unsatisfied cravings. Hang in there! You can do this😊

I have felt the same way for most of my life. Since starting keto in Aug, I have lost 58 lbs and love not being hungry all the time and not having cravings. I feel like I have found the holy Grail! I know I can do this forever! I hope if you try it, it will make you just as happy. Good luck!

Trishy, I'm going to see if I can message you. I'm still clumsy at this.

As you know every body is different and life is not fair. That said, keto seems to be very effect. I am new to trying it and need all the help I can get. So far I can attest that I am not feeling hungry or deprived. I am sure that will come when I think of the things I can't eat. But there are work arounds for most things. Really the way I see it the only real limit is when going out to eat.
