Wow, I lost 2.5 pounds this week! I am pleased with my new eating habits. I have been faithful for the past 3 weeks and have lost 7 pound. I know however, that I must start to exercise! I could use some motivation in that area! Any ideas on how to ease into this or trick my mind into thinking I like it? :-)

WOW that's great that you lost 2.5 pounds this week! Good for you! As far as exercise is concerned, walking is always the first step. Just try to walk as much as you could. Hay, it all counts!

Way to go Sis! I think you will eventually be motivated to exercise as the pounds come off. I'm finally feeling more motivated now that I've lost 14 pounds. Take baby steps. Get on your elliptical several times a day and just do a few minutes until you can do more. Too bad we don't have a personal trainer pushing us like they do on The Biggest Loser. I am so proud of you!

I just try to tell myself, if i am working so hard to eat the right things, then it would be foolish of me not to work out and maximize all my efforts. but, that doesn't always work. I am trying really hard to get back into a regular work out routine. You can do it!!

Thanks for the all the encouragement. I will incorporate some form of exercise this week....even if it is small! On my exercise calendar I have changed all the time to "sleeping" which I think is closer to my actual basal rate and will add any exercise to that. Of course, I'm not really "sleeping" more than 7-8 hours a day....unless I have a little nap on the sofa. :-)

I think I commented that you can watch a movie or show while doing any exercises - on an elliptical for example. I go through the movies/shows via Netflix. Never seen 24 and want to, Starter Wife, etc...... The distraction keeps me going with letting myself here my own whining.

I think that softballrn's idea about watching tv is an awesome one. Turn the volume way up so you can hear over your breathing haha! When I work out at the gym, they have tv's all over the place, while I walk on the treadmill I watch tv. My favorite is America's Funniest Home Video's that really keeps my mind off the work! And before I know it I'm done!!! Don't give up! Even if you only exercise for 10 mins a day its better then nothing at all! GO WHITE CORVETTES!!!

we have a cheap treadmil we got at Sears in the guest room in front of the tv. time goes by faster when your mind is someplace else. Also.. I do some exercizes around the house just by fitting them in . examples: when a commercial comes on tv your watching, get on the floor and do some exercizes, leg lifts, squats, crunches, etc. when in the kitchen waiting for the microwave or a pot to boil, do sink push-ups or wall push-ups against the fridge. when you go to sit down in a chair, do 10 squats before you settle down (bend like your going to sit down but just when your butt is about to touch the chair, lift back up again..ten times) when your brushing your teeth, practice this breathing/muscle technique, breath out and as you breath out pull your belly button inward, like you were trying to touch your back bone with your belly button... breath in while "holding" that position.. breath out again and again while breathing out, try to suck that belly button even closer to your spine, continue you this till your teeth are clean and shiney! (this exercizes a muscle that protects your back/spine and as an added benfit helps hold your tummy in). just do any exercize you like , just a few at a time, it will become habit
