Keto friends! Help!!!

We invited a couple we haven't seen for two years over for dinner tonight. She just messaged me to say that they're going to eat before they come because they're doing keto. I loled and told her that I've been doing low carb, and I have some nice porterhouses in the fridge, and that I'd be happy to make a keto meal. They accepted, and right now I could really use some advice.

What are your tastiest keto recipes to go along side a good steak?

Today is weigh in I GAINED 1 POUND ! ! ! I have been under a lot of stress lately. I had a blow up with my Daughter & now I live at my son's house. I was very close to Grandaugher, ( natty ) so it's quite here. I must stay busy, that is my key to not to eat. So this week I am going back to no eating until dinner, ( banana , small snack ) I need to get back on track & start losing weight again. Nattybun

I LOVE roasted cauliflower dressed with lemon juice with olive oil. Sprinkle a little garlic powder, S&P and dried parsley flake on it. Finish with a little parm. It's delicious and looks way fancier than it is :)

Cauliflower mash! And fresh green beans with butter and crunchy salt. You can find a great recipe for a whipped cream based chocolate pudding in atkins.com recipe database.

You should never be afraid to add as many vegetables as you want and season them with good evoo and light amount of butter. I only believe keto can work for a short time without causing harm due to a humans need for carbs, its just that too many aren't that good when you are trying to lose weight fast. But fast is not the answer. Long term 1-2 lbs per week is deemed safe from a medical and metabolic standpoint. However, if you do lose a substantial amount of weight fast it would be wise to consult a nutritionist who can help you slowly re introduce healthy carbs back in. There is just too much people don't realize there lacking when they go "cold turkey" keto"or atkins...But again, if most of your carbs come from vegetables and fruit with a small amount of usually 1/2 cup or so grains or starch, there is no need to worry about it, and no crash bread and pasta binge later on. Your body will thank you. My rule of thumb is getting portion plates where 2/3rds of your plate are veggies with 3-6 oz protein and 1/2 cup starch or slice of healthy whole grain bread. U almost did keto but my research on it long term is really unhealthy and not sustainable. The body needs carbs period, its just the american diet puts those first. Hope this helps people. Not to mention just count old fashion calories you can do real easy on here and stay between 1500-1700 and almost nobody won't lose weight.

i'm on same page with Jennifer lol also, loaded broccoli is amazing, sauteed then topped with cheese, bacon and sour cream. mmmmm! had last night with our steaks :)

I love loaded cauliflower with bacon and cheese. or zucchini fries coated in parmesan and baked. or even sauteed zucchini in butter and garlic.

I too a steak with a can of rotel tomatoes - a good slaw like KFC , green beans ,onions , and ham is good -

Porterhouse grilled good and hot, you can accomplish this under your oven's broiler, about ten minutes on each side, plate on a slice of Swiss cheese and finish with a pat of butter, serve with a side of guacamole. My birthday is coming up, sounds like a great birthday dinner!

I would pair with mashed cauliflower with bacon and asparagus+baby spinach lightly sauteed (just to the point they are a bright vivid green) with garlic butter then sprinkled with fresh Parmesan cheeses. Simple flavors to showcase the taste of the steak.

Make some deviled eggs (use mayo, mustard, dlll weed, s & p, garlic & onion powder, 1 tsp. green olive oil juice). If you have romaine, chop up and throw in some olive oil, vinegar, parmesan cheese, S & P, spice it up w/what u like. Also, if you have fresh mushrooms or portabellas, chop up and fry in pan or bake with olive oil and butter, S & P, seasonings.

Thank you, everyone! I did the steaks on the grill, topped them with some mushrooms in garlic butter sauce, made some loaded cauliflower, and did broiled asparagus with parmesan cheese. We couldn't move afterwards!
