You came to the right place, if you ask anyone on FS they will tell you their success is mainly due to the motivation found here! Your meals don't need to be boring but you have to be realistic. As you cut your carbs to under 20 your appetite will deminish, leaving you with eating less, sleeping better and a clearer mind. Best of luck on your journey!

Welcome Crystal!! I LOVE this app!! its like one big family ...really they are all there for you when you need it even when you don't the support is amazing! you can click on the Diet tab at the top and see all the diets there are. but you should really do what will work for you.. How I started is I took "what I liked and worked" out of all the diets I have tried and I eliminated the parts I didn't like "that made me quit... As it turns out the Keto diet is what I wound up doing and it works well for me. I can eat everything I love. so its really all about what makes you happy. Good luck and we are all here for you!! :)

I've hit restart for myself about a week and a half ago, and it's difficult to start making changes when you're used to eating unhealthy. Like Cherik1 said, you have to find what works for you and what you can stick with. I'm starting off eating more fruits and vegetables and trying for less processed foods, and I'm looking here, at Pinterest, and online for recipe motivations. I hope to lower my carbs, but I know for me it's not realistic to cut too much, but I can eat better carbs. Just clearing out some of the unhealthy stuff and having more fruits and veggies helps me feel lighter and just better all around. You will figure this out. Good luck!!

Healthy food is far from boring. To me fast food is so very boring. There are a lot of good sights that will open up a world of foods for you to try. Just type in Healthy foods and get started. Wish you the best. You could even start right on this sight. Lots of good cooks and ideas.

Enforcing a calorie deficit is the only way regardless of diet so I recommend logging every single thing you eat it has really helped me. Seeing your data all in one place makes it a lot easier to make decisions. Also make long term goals. Never cheat two days in a row. You can reach all your goals good luck!

Cooking Light magazine has a lot of light, tasty options. Also, if there are any spice stores in your town (or even a health food store), maybe someone there can advise you on how to spice healthy food so it tastes better. I bought a book of easy low-carb recipes and was so disappointed that the person who wrote it didn't know anything about how to season a dish (I don't either so I'm trying to learn, too).

My advice is a bit more simple... concentrate on your behaviors (when you eat, difference between 'belly hunger' and 'head hunger', creating situations that don't revolve around food, etc.) FIRST... then, just stick with a RDI of calories for your age, height and current weight (by the way, don't use the one on Fat Secret 'cause it's a tad high). Great to have you here!

I have found any sauce and or meat on zoodles is very good. Zoodles are shredded vegetables like zucchini or carrots that you can use to replace noodles or rice in recipes. Can purchase a gadget called a spiralizer to make them, or use your grater if you have one to try them out. Find recipes on the wed. You got this, you can do it.

Welcome. Congratulations on deciding to get healthy and take care of YOU. My advice is scroll through profiles and find people who are successfully losing. Particularly people who have lost the amount of weight you want to lose or people with similar lifestyles. There are many ways to achieve your goal and many contrasting methods of eating. You will come across some very successful people who have discovered methods that you may not be familiar with. Research on google or YouTube some of these methods to get more detailed information. Try something new and if that doesn't work after a month or two , try something else. I personally eat high fat and low carb and intermittent fast. It has helped me lose 60 out of 75lbs. I hope to be at goal very soon. I never really feel hungry and am healthier than I have been since I was 20. I eat lots of fish and grassfed organic meat, butter, eggs nitrate free uncured bacon and coconut and olive oil. Lots of green(salad) and cruciferous vegetables(broccoli, cauliflower). No potatoes or starchy veg, no rice, no grains. No low fat yogurts etc, they are loaded with sugar which is not good for anyone. That's just what has worked for me. We are all here to support you. It takes time to gain weight and time to lose it. Be patient with yourself.
